A timeline of the Fort Stewart shooting in Georgia
Five soldiers were shot by a fellow soldier on Wednesday at the Army's Fort Stewart in Georgia before the shooter was arrested.

Parts of Fort Stewart in southeast Georgia were locked down after a shooter was reported on the sprawling Army post, a spokesperson said. The army said the shooter has been arrested and there's no threat to the community.
Located about 40 miles southwest of Savannah, Fort Stewart is the largest Army post east of the Mississippi River. It's home to thousands of soldiers assigned to the Army's 3rd Infantry Division and family members.
The fort’s three elementary schools were also on lockdown, Community Superintendent Brian Perry told WTOC-TV. The schools have nearly 1,400 students, according to the Department of Defense. Today is also the first day of the fall school semester.
Here's a timeline of events:
Around 10:55 a.m. — The shooting occurs at the fort. (It is later explained by officials that a soldier shot his coworkers, who were also fellow soldiers.) Nearby soldiers immediately tackle the shooter and subdue him before law enforcement arrives.
10:56 a.m. — Law enforcement is dispatched for a possible shooting in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team complex of the fort.
11:04 a.m. — Fort Stewart is locked down due to the shooting threat.
11:09 a.m. — Emergency medical personnel are dispatched to treat the wounded soldiers.
11:35 a.m. — Shooter is apprehended and in custody.
12:10 p.m. — Fort Stewart lifted the lockdown of the main cantonment area, but the 2nd Armored Brigade complex, which is located about 3 miles down the highway, remains locked down. The scene is no longer considered an active incident.
12:44 p.m. — President Donald Trump is briefed on the situation and the White House is monitoring, according to .
Around 12:45 p.m. — Three Liberty County schools — two elementary schools and a middle school — enter a soft lockdown "out of an abundance of caution," according to the school system. This is the first day of school for the county system.
Around 1:30 p.m. — Shooter is identified as a male soldier, according to a U.S. official, as reported by ABC News. His identity has not been released.
1:56 p.m. — Fort Stewart gives the all-clear and lifts lockdown on surrounding facilities.
Between noon and 2 p.m. — Soldiers arrive at a local emergency hospital with injuries, but no fatalities.
Around 2 p.m. — Soft lockdowns for surrounding schools are lifted.
3:30 p.m. — Army and local officials hold a press conference on the shooting. The suspected shooter is identified by officials as Army Sgt. Quornelius Radford. Radford is an active-duty soldier assigned to the fort, according to Brig. Gen. John Lubas, the commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division. Radford, 28, is from Jacksonville, Florida, as reported by WJCL.
The injured soldiers are stable and recovering, said Lubas. The Army won’t release their names pending notification of family members, and officials won’t speculate on motive, Lt. Col. Angel Tomko said at the news conference.
