Ames police say one of two pedestrians who were hit on the city's north side Friday night has died. Officials told vlog a vehicle traveling northbound on Grand Avenue struck a man and a woman while turning westbound onto Bloomington Road just before 8 p.m. One person was flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Des Moines in unknown condition. The other person was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center, where they later died. Bloomington Road was closed between Grand Avenue and Roy Key near the North Grand Mall.
