Iowa State basketball drops to No. 8 in latest AP Top 25 poll
Iowa State finished last week with a 1-1 record to end a four-game winning streak, but the Cyclones weren't punished much in the latest AP Top 25 rankings.

In the new poll released Monday afternoon, Iowa State (21-6, 10-4 in Big 12 play) moved from No. 6 to No. 8. Iowa State finished with 1,155 points in the voting system, exactly one below No. 7 Kansas' 1,156 points.
Iowa State started its week with a close loss at No. 2 Houston before recovering with a home win over West Virginia. Iowa State is in sole possession of second place in the Big 12 with four games to go, trailing Houston by one game in the standings.
The Cyclones host Oklahoma Wednesday before closing the week Saturday with a road game at Central Florida.
