Tsunami alerts have ended for Southern California. Parts of Northern California remain under tsunami advisory downgraded from *** tsunami warning that was in effect even just *** few hours ago. As you can see here in Manhattan Beach, it is business as usual. People have returned to the beaches and even some have braved the waters going in to swim and even *** surf, but we know this was *** very different scene. Even *** few hours ago when those advisories were in effect, officials had been telling people to avoid areas just like this one due to the threat of those tsunami waves. We saw some of those waves coming in at about 1 o'clock in the morning here in Southern California. The tsunami waves reached about 1.6 ft and in Northern California around 3 to 4 ft. Now we know that the The effects of this earthquake has been felt around the world. In Hawaii, massive evacuations. Those evacuations have been lifted, but officials there say they're still monitoring the situation and in other parts like Chile and Peru, we know that they are bracing for more of those tsunami waves in the next few hours.
