You know who’s a good boy? Gary Fisher, French bulldog child of the late Carrie Fisher. On Monday, Gary joined masses of Star Wars fans and stayed up to watch the new trailer for The Last Jedi, which aired during halftime of Monday night football. Gary's reaction was of course captured on and the accompanying caption, most likely written by Gary's current owner, Carrie's assistant Corby McCoin, will definitely make you reach for the nearest tissue:
In 2013, Carrie opened up to about how having Gary, a therapy dog, helped her cope with her mental illness. “Gary is mental also. My mother says Gary is a hooligan. Gary is like my heart. Gary is very devoted to me and that calms me down. He’s anxious when he’s away from me,” she said.
Until Carrie’s death in December 2016, the two were nearly inseparable, as Gary was by his mom’s side for interviews, book signings, and red carpet appearances. Below, a mini trip down memory lane for Gary and Carrie:
