AND HER CAMPAIGN. VOTING WELL. VOTE. VOTE DEMOCRAT CINDY AXNE. HE HAS SPENT THE PAST FOUR YEARS IN CONGRESS REPRESENTING IOWA’S THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT. WHETHER IT WAS LOWERING THEIR COST OF THEIR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS OR PUTTING MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS THROUGH THE CLEAN ENERGY THAT WE’RE NOW PRODUCING HERE IN AMERICA. I WILL ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT I’M HELPING THEIR FAMILIES HAVE MORE OPPORTUNITY AND KEEP MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS. BUT WE’VE GOT A LOT MORE WORK TO DO. SHE SAYS THAT WORK INCLUDES ENSURING ACCESS TO CHILD CARE, WRITING THE NEXT FARM BILL AND PROTECTING VOTING RIGHTS AND ABORTION ACCESS. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WE NEED TO GET DONE IS TO CODIFY A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO MAKE HER OWN HEALTH CARE AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE DECISIONS BY MAKING SURE THAT WE CODIFY ROE V WADE. AND HE’S HELD THE DISTRICT THREE SEAT FOR TWO TERMS, EVEN THOUGH THAT DISTRICT WENT TO DONALD TRUMP IN THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. AND THE ONLY REASON SHE WON BOTH IN 2018 AND 2020 AND HER INITIAL AND THEN FIRST REELECTION RACES, WAS THAT SHE CARRIED POLK COUNTY THE MORE URBANIZED AREA OF THE STATE, BY A SIGNIFIER BENTLEY LARGE ENOUGH MARGIN THAT IT OVERCAME HER DEFICIT WITH THE MORE RURAL COUNTIES IN THAT DISTRICT BECAUSE OF REDISTRICTING. IOWA’S THIRD DISTRICT NOW HAS NINE MORE COUNTIES THAT WENT TO TRUMP IN 2020, BUT ACTUALLY ARGUES HER BIPARTISAN BACKGROUND QUALIFIES HER TO REPRESENT ALL IOWANS ACROSS THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM. HOW WOULD YOU HOW DO YOU REPRESENT ALL IOWANS, EVEN IF THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT BACKGROUND FROM YOU OR PASSIONATELY DISAGREE WITH YOU ON POLITICS? I’VE BEEN NAMED THE MOST BIPARTISAN MEMBER OF IOWA’S DELEGATION NOW TWO YEARS IN A ROW. 85% OF THE BILLS THAT I HAVE CO-SPONSORED HAVE BEEN BY PARTIZAN. THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE BILLS THAT I BROUGHT TO THE TABLE ARE BIPARTISAN IN. AND IT’S HOW YOU GET THINGS DONE. vlog POLITICAL ANALYST DENNIS GOLDFORD SAYS ONCE AGAIN. AXNE HIS FATE WILL LIKELY COME DOWN TO VOTERS IN POLK COUNTY. THAT’S WHAT SHE’LL SINK OR SWIM ON IN THIS PARTICULAR RACE. CAN SHE GET POLK COUNTY DEMOCRATS TO TURN OUT FOR HER? ALSO, IF SHE CAN FIND A WAY NOT TO LOSE AS BADLY IN THE MORE RURAL COUNTIES OF THE DISTRICT. CINDY AXNE IS A FIFTH GENERATION IOWAN, A MOM OF TWO BOYS AND A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER. IN CONGRESS, SHE SITS ON THE HOUSE AGRIC COMMITTEE AND THE FINANCIAL

In Iowa's 3rd Congressional District, Democrat Cindy Axne is on the ballot, seeking her third term in office. Axne is running against her challenger, Republican Zach Nunn. Candidate profile:Axne has spent the past four years in Congress representing Iowa's 3rd congressional district. “I’m very proud about the things that we’ve been able to accomplish for Iowans, whether it is reducing the cost of prescription drugs and certainly getting an infrastructure bill through so that we can fix those derelict bridges and those hundreds of miles of highway in need of repair, make sure that our kids have safe drinking water, things like getting broadband connectivity out to every nook and cranny in this district,” Axne said. “But we’ve got a lot more work to do.” That work includes ensuring access to child care, writing the next farm bill and protecting voting rights and abortion access.“One of the most important things that we need to get done is to codify a woman’s right to make her own healthcare and reproductive health care decisions by making sure that we codify Roe v. Wade,” Axne said.Axne's held the District 3 seat for the past four years, even though the district went to Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.“The only reason she won both in 2018 and 2020, in her initial and then first re-election races was that she carried Polk County, the more urbanized area of the state, by a significantly large enough margin that it overcame her deficit with the more rural counties in that district,” vlog political analyst Dennis Goldford said.Because of redistricting, Iowa's third district now has nine more counties that went to Donald Trump in 2020. But Axne argues her bipartisan background qualifies her to represent all Iowans across the political spectrum.“I’ve been named the most bipartisan member of Iowa’s delegation now two years in a row. 85% of the bills that I have co-sponsored have been bipartisan, the vast majority of the bills that I brought to the table are bipartisan, and it’s how you get things done,” Axne said.Goldford says that once again, Axne's fate will likely come down to voters in Polk County.“That’s what she’ll sink or swim on in this particular race. Can she get Polk County Democrats to turn out for her? Also, if she can find a way not to lose as badly in the more rural counties of the district,” Axne said.Axne is a fifth-generation Iowan, a mom of two boys and a small business owner. In Congress, she sits on the House Agriculture Committee and the Financial Services Committee.Watch: District 3 candidates on inflationWatch: District 3 candidates on violent crimeWatch: District 3 candidates on abortion Watch: District 3 candidates on health care Watch: District 3 candidates on guns Watch: District 3 candidates on education Watch: District 3 candidates make final push to votersPrevious coverage: Cindy Axne candidate profile:Watch: Cindy Axne's final pitch to voters:Watch: Cindy Axne on her top priorities:Watch: Cindy Axne on the economy:Watch: Cindy Axne on immigration:Watch: Cindy Axne on firearms:Watch: Cindy Axne on education:

Candidate profile:

Axne has spent the past four years in Congress representing Iowa's 3rd congressional district.

“But we’ve got a lot more work to do.”

That work includes ensuring access to child care, writing the next farm bill and protecting voting rights and abortion access.

“One of the most important things that we need to get done is to codify a woman’s right to make her own healthcare and reproductive health care decisions by making sure that we codify Roe v. Wade,” Axne said.

Axne's held the District 3 seat for the past four years, even though the district went to Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

“The only reason she won both in 2018 and 2020, in her initial and then first re-election races was that she carried Polk County, the more urbanized area of the state, by a significantly large enough margin that it overcame her deficit with the more rural counties in that district,” vlog political analyst Dennis Goldford said.

Because of redistricting, Iowa's third district now has nine more counties that went to Donald Trump in 2020. But Axne argues her bipartisan background qualifies her to represent all Iowans across the political spectrum.

“I’ve been named the most bipartisan member of Iowa’s delegation now two years in a row. 85% of the bills that I have co-sponsored have been bipartisan, the vast majority of the bills that I brought to the table are bipartisan, and it’s how you get things done,” Axne said.

Goldford says that once again, Axne's fate will likely come down to voters in Polk County.

“That’s what she’ll sink or swim on in this particular race. Can she get Polk County Democrats to turn out for her? Also, if she can find a way not to lose as badly in the more rural counties of the district,” Axne said.

Axne is a fifth-generation Iowan, a mom of two boys and a small business owner.

In Congress, she sits on the House Agriculture Committee and the Financial Services Committee.
