IT HAPPENED EARLIER TODAY AT COPPER CREEK LAKE JUST OFF OF EAST UNIVERSITY AVENUE. vlog IS ABIGAIL CURTIN JOINS US IN STUDIO WITH WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR. ABIGAIL. WELL, WHAT’S NORMALLY A SERENE SPOT TO SPEND TIME OUTDOORS WAS FILLED WITH FLASHING LIGHTS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. JUST A FEW HOURS AGO. AND I SPOKE WITH THE MAN WHO SAYS HE CALLED THEM IN IN THE FIRST PLACE. JOSE RIVERA IS A FREQUENT FISHER AT COPPER CREEK LAKE, SO MUCH SO THAT HE HAS HIS OWN SPOT. HE LIKES TO BRING HIS FAMILY, BUT HE DIDN’T EVEN GET A CHANCE TO CAST HIS LINE WHEN HE SAW A DOG WANDERING BY ITSELF AND A BODY FLOATING IN THE WATER. KIND OF SCARY, YOU KNOW, BECAUSE YOU KNOW, I MY FIRST TIME, FIRST EXPERIENCE TO SEE SOMEBODY UP. DRAWN ON WATER. HE AND HIS SISTER CALLED 911, AND IT WASN’T LONG UNTIL THE LAKES PARKING LOT WAS FILLED WITH FIRST RESPONDERS. THE CITY SAYS FIRST RESPONDERS SPENT HALF AN HOUR PERFORMING LIFESAVING MEASURES BEFORE THE INDIVIDUAL WAS TAKEN OFF SCENE. TO GIVE, YOU KNOW, LIKE TRUCKS, YOU KNOW, TO GET HIM OUT, TO TAKE THE WATER OUT TO PLEASANT HILL. POLICE SAY THE MAN WAS PULLED FROM THE WATER, BUT WE DON’T YET KNOW HIS NAME OR HOW HE ENDED UP THERE. I FEEL BAD FOR THE FAMILY, FEEL BAD FOR ANYBODY. FAMILY. Investigators say the man found Friday in the water at Copper Creek Lake in Pleasant Hill has died. A local fisherman told vlog that he found a dog wandering by itself near the area where he and his family were. Shortly thereafter, he saw a body floating in the water. Crews were able to remove the man from the water. City leaders say emergency responders performed life-saving procedures on the man for approximately 30 minutes before he was taken to a local hospital.On Saturday morning, Pleasant Hill authorities said the man, Greg Lewis, of Pleasant Hill, has died.Pleasant Hill police Capt. PLEASANT HILL, Iowa —
Investigators say the man found Friday in the water at Copper Creek Lake in Pleasant Hill has died.
A local fisherman told vlog that he found a dog wandering by itself near the area where he and his family were. Shortly thereafter, he saw a body floating in the water.
