Couple gets engaged at Thunder championship parade in Oklahoma City
Danae Wilson and Heather Hunter traveled from Tulsa to Oklahoma City to join the Thunder championship parade at Scissortail Park, where Wilson proposed to Hunter amidst the celebrations.
"Let our works know we were taking the day off; we’re coming to watch the Thunder and be a part of the parade and celebrate them,” Hunter said.

After witnessing the Thunder clinch the championship in Game 7, Wilson and Hunter knew they had to attend the parade.
"That was amazing just to see SGA going across the street and greeting the fans coming over to our side, and he was excited as we were,” Hunter said.
Wilson had plans to make the day even more memorable.
"After we won, I was gonna do it on Game 7. We didn’t really do a watch party thing we kind of just hung out at home and watched it. So then after it was parade time, we’re going to do it at the parade," Wilson said.
Following the ceremony, Wilson proposed to Hunter.
"I didn’t even know he had a ring on him. And he was like, let’s take a picture together, and so I was excited to take a picture, and then the next thing I know, he was down on one knee,” Hunter said.
Wilson wanted to share the moment with the city and their friends.
"To just share that moment with the city. And have a lot of people around, our friends around and kind of make a big deal about it," Wilson said.
The fans surrounding them were thrilled, almost as much as they were during the Thunder's celebration.
"I was completely shocked; I was shaking, I was so shocked,” Hunter said. "It felt like such a historical day for us to even get to go and celebrate them together, and then to add we’re getting married and we’re making this huge step together. It felt amazing."
The couple has not yet set a date for their wedding.
