And Pepp's Pizzeria in Urbandale posted a photo of Portnoy holding one of their pizzas, saying, "Stay tuned to see what the pizza king has to say about our za’."Connor Bell, the general manager at Pepp’s, believes their authentic New York-style pizza will win Portnoy over. “New York style is his thing, and I think we’re one of the only pizzerias in the area that actually has a good, authentic New York style,” Bell said. Pepp’s, which opened its Urbandale location just four months ago, has already earned local accolades and is eager to see how its pizza stacks up on a national scale.“We just want to see what he thinks of our pizza,” Bell added.A prior Iowa review, conducted in Coralville, featured Casey’s breakfast pizza, which he rated a 5.2/10, saying, "too bacony."
