With the weather heating up, many central Iowans are gearing up to hit the pool.However, one Des Moines public pool will not be opening along with the others later this month. The city is delaying opening day for the Birdland Pool on Holcomb Avenue near North High School. Officials say it's due to a supply chain delay with a key mechanical part.Birdland Pool is now set to open in early July. Pool admission will be just $1 per day for the rest of the season. Season pass holders will be fully refunded.
