A central Iowa congressman is calling for more clarity about what led to the Des Moines Public Schools' superintendent's arrest by immigration agents.

U.S. Rep. Zach Nunn says he's requesting all documents related to Ian Roberts' immigration status. He sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and published the letter on social media Saturday.

"Like many in our community, I was alarmed to learn that Dr. Roberts was reportedly under an active Biden-era deportation order, and that he was also found in possession of a loaded handgun, a hunting knife, and a large sum of money at the time of his arrest — and that he attempted to flee rather than comply when approached by law enforcement.
