TO REMIND THOSE LISTENING OF THE MISSION, THIS FACILITY SET FORTH TO ACCOMPLISH FROM A GOVERNOR THAT WILL CELEBRATE 25 YEARS IN RECOVERY THIS YEAR. I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW IMPORTANT FACILITIES LIKE THIS ARE. THIS IS AMBER RECOVERY CAMPUS. IT’S A NEW RECOVERY FACILITY NEAR CAMBRIDGE, WHERE THE YOUTH SERVICES SOCIETY WILL HOST ITS SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS. WE FINALLY HAVE A FACILITY AND A SPACE THAT IS WORLD CLASS, NATURE BASED, TRAUMA INFORMED, EXPERIENTIAL. THAT’S GOING TO SAVE LIVES AND TRANSFORM FAMILIES FOR GENERATIONS. THE 53 ACRE PROPERTY COST AROUND $30 MILLION AND IS ABLE TO HOST UP TO 70 PATIENTS AGES 12 TO 17 AND 18 TO 24, AN ACCOMPLISHMENT THE GOVERNOR SAYS IS HISTORIC. THE AMBER RECOVERY CAMPUS REPRESENTS THE LARGEST SINGLE INVESTMENT IN CHILDREN’S BEHAVIORAL HEALTH IN THE HISTORY OF OUR STATE. SO TODAY, EVERYONE IS HERE TO CELEBRATE THE STEP TOWARDS IOWANS SOBRIETY.
