OFFICERS WILL HAND OUT A GIFT CARD. THAT’S NICE. WELL, SOME NEWS. WE LOVE MORE NEWS. WE LOVE A FATHER AND DAUGHTER GRADUATING TOGETHER FROM LAWSON STATE. MELVIN HOLCOMB AND HIS DAUGHTER MELANIE BOTH WALKED THE AISLE THIS MORNING. NOW THEY GRADUATED FROM THE HEATING, VENTILATION, AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION PROGRAM. MISTER HOLCOMB SAYS THEY PUSHED EACH OTHER IN THE CLASSROOM TO GET TO THIS SPECIAL MOMENT TOGETHER. I’M VERY PROUD OF MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER AND TO BE WALKING THE STAGE WITH HER, AND IT WAS A GOOD DAY. SHE’S MORE CONCERNED ABOUT BREAKING HER NAILS THAN FIXING THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. SO, SO HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET AROUND THAT AND, UM, GET US SOME FIELD EXPERIENCE. THE PLAN FOR NOW IS FOR THE FATHER AND DAUGHTER TO OPEN A BUSINE

It was a special sight to see at Lawson State Community College's graduation.Father and daughter Melvin and Melaneisha Holcombe walked across the stage and received their diplomas on Dec. 15 in Birmingham, Alabama. Both graduated from the Heating and Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program. Mr. Holcombe previously graduated from Lawson State in 1996 with a degree in drafting and design technology."I consider my dad my best friend. I talk to him about everything, so it was a good thing to take classes with him, and I'm happy that we are graduating together," said Melaneisha Holcombe.Besides being fellow graduates together, father and daughter both work for the United States Postal Service. Mr. Holcombe said his ultimate goal is to start a family HVAC business.

Father and daughter Melvin and Melaneisha Holcombe walked across the stage and received their diplomas on Dec. 15 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Both graduated from the Heating and Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program.

Mr. Holcombe previously graduated from Lawson State in 1996 with a degree in drafting and design technology.

"I consider my dad my best friend. I talk to him about everything, so it was a good thing to take classes with him, and I'm happy that we are graduating together," said Melaneisha Holcombe.

Besides being fellow graduates together, father and daughter both work for the United States Postal Service.

Mr. Holcombe said his ultimate goal is to start a family HVAC business.
