A year of firsts: Who could win their first Emmy at the 77th Emmy Awards
While this may not be the year for newcomers at the Emmy Awards, there is a high possibility that many people who have been nominated previously for an Emmy and lost will finally get their recognition.
New shows like “The Pitt” and “The Studio” have veteran actors who have never won an Emmy before. There are also actors from fan favorite shows like “The White Lotus,” “Hacks” and “Severance” who have never won before.
Here is who could win their first Emmy on Sunday:
Noah Wyle
After over 20 years and six nominations, Noah Wyle could finally take home his first Emmy award for Best Actor in a Drama.
Wyle has been nominated at the Emmys five previous times for his role as Dr. John Carter on “ER” in the 1990s and early 2000s. However, he never won an award despite his several nominations.
While it would be his first Emmy, it would be for a role Wyle knows very well. Wyle is most likely going to win his first Emmy playing Dr. Robby in another medical drama, “The Pitt.”
Seth Rogen
Seth Rogen is no stranger to the Emmys, having been nominated nearly 10 times throughout his Hollywood career.
Despite the many nominations, Rogen has never won an Emmy. However, Seth Rogen’s odds for winning Best Actor in a Comedy are extremely high and he will most likely be going home with an award, whether it is for acting or producing “The Studio.”
Hannah Einbinder
Hannah Einbinder has been nominated for her role in “Hacks” three times previously and lost each time. Now, it's Einbinder’s turn to finally get her Emmy.
Einbinder has deserved to win with each nomination, as her co-star Jean Smart has; however, she is constantly overlooked. 2025 is Einbinder’s turn to finally get her recognition.
Walton Goggins
Walton Goggins is also no stranger to the Emmy Awards, previously being nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for “Justified” and Best Actor in a Drama for “Fallout.” However, this year could be the year he finally secures an Emmy for his role on “The White Lotus.”
Tramell Tillman
Tramell Tillman has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor before at the Emmys for his role in “Severance,” and this year might be the year he takes one home.
His competition is Walton Goggins, who also has never won an Emmy before, so the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama category is more than likely going to see a first-time winner.
Parker Posey
More well-known as an “indie darling,” Parker Posey has only ever been nominated for an Emmy twice in her entire career.
If she were to win Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, this would be her first-ever Emmy.
Carrie Coon
Carrie Coon also may have a shot at winning her first Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role in “The White Lotus.”
Coon is up against her co-star Parker Posey, so it is more than likely that the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama category will also have a first-time winner.
