A dog was rescued after being spotted swimming in floodwaters in Ruidoso, New Mexico.The dog was rescued, and attempts were made to contact the owners using the phone numbers on the dog's tag, but the calls went straight to voicemail. The dog, named Ellie, was then taken to the Humane Society, where her oxygen levels were checked and found to be low. Ellie was then transferred to the Ruidoso Animal Clinic. Ellie is microchipped, so the Humane Society was able to put an alert out, although they still haven't heard from the owners as of early Wednesday morning.The Village of Ruidoso, which is in the Sierra Blanca mountain range, is dealing with the aftermath of historic flash flooding that killed three people, including two young children, and damaged or destroyed numerous homes.
