Wild video: Florida deputies discover Kodiak bear cubs roaming alongside the road
It might not be all that surprising to see a bear roaming about in Florida, but these guys are not from around here.
Okaloosa County deputies were shocked when they were called to help out some cubs that were over 3,000 miles away from their natural habitat in Alaska.
Back in December, a man spotted two Kodiak bear cubs, a subspecies of brown or grizzly bears, at 3:30 a.m.
That's the largest species in the world, and they typically are found in Alaska.
The sheriff's office says this duo was friendly.
"Don't you bite me, I'll punch ya in the nose!" a man is heard telling one of the bears.
Deputies say the bears had escaped from an enclosure at the home of a self-proclaimed bear trainer.
That person faces several FWC violations.
Florida Fish and Wildlife stepped in and took them to a safe place.
