DIFFERENCE MAKERS. THE REGULAR SEASON IS WINDING DOWN IN BOTH IOWA AND IOWA STATE ARE TRYING TO MAKE SOLID CASES TO THE COMMITTEE TO MAKE THE NCAA TOURNAMENT. THE CYCLONES DID WIN GAME ONE OF THIS SERIES EARLIER THIS MONTH, 9 TO 5. THE HAWKEYES TRYING TO WIN FOR THE FANS HERE AT HOME, THE CYCLONES GOT LOOSE WITH SOME RITUAL HACKY SACK. THE HAWKEYES CALLED THIS GAME PARTY AT THE PEARL, BUT WE DIDN’T SEE ANY ACTION UNTIL THE BOTTOM OF THE THIRD. TORI BENNETT BOMBS STRAIGHT TO CENTER. TATIANA ROMAN WOULD SCORE ON THE SAC, FLY FROM THE FORT DODGE GRAD. IT’S ONE ZERO HAWKEYES. BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH. TWO OUTS. RUNNER ON SECOND. JENNA YOUNG HITS THIS INTO THE GAP, BUT ANGELINA ALLEN GETS THERE FIRST ON A DIVING CATCH. SHE ROBS YOUNG AND ENDS THE INNING. IT’S STILL ONE ZERO. IOWA BOTTOM OF THE SIXTH. HAWKEYES HAVE THE BAGS JUICED. JAYLEE OJO CALL HER OJ. SHE SQUEEZES THE LIFE OUT OF THIS GAME WITH A GRAND SLAM. IT COMES IN CLUTCH, GIVING IOWA A50 LEAD. JALEN ADAMS POLISHES THEM OFF, PITCHING A COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS SEASON. ADAMS IS NOW 23 AND FIVE AFTER THE FIVE ZERO WIN OVER THEIR IN-STATE RIVAL. I FEEL LIKE THAT’S PRETTY BIG FOR ME. I FEEL LIKE MY GOAL IS JUST TO GET A GOOD PITCH ACROSS, AND THEN THE RESULT WILL BE WHATEVER IT IS, SO IT WAS PRETTY COOL. I WAS REALLY HAPPY FOR MY TEAM.
