Astronomer, a New York-based company, put its CEO on leave as it responds to two days of viral rumors linking the executive and others to an embarrassing moment caught on camera during a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts this week.By now, you've likely seen the video of a couple hiding from the camera after being shown on the big screen during Wednesday's concert at Gillette Stadium. If you have, you've probably also seen rumors about their connection to the tech company.A statement posted on social media Friday afternoon by Astronomer addresses some of those rumors and announces that the company's board of directors "has initiated a formal investigation into this matter."That first message promised more details “very shortly.”Astronomer’s second statement followed just a few hours later.“Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave. We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days,” the statement said.In the 15-second video, the man and woman were standing in Gillette Stadium, with his arms around her. They quickly turned away when they realized they were on the big screen.Coldplay frontman Chris Martin teased the two about their reaction in front of the crowd.  "Either they're having an affair or they're really shy," Martin said.The video has been posted and reposted across numerous websites and social media pages. Additionally, footage and related rumors were among the top search engine queries.Meanwhile, internet sleuths identified the man in the video as Byron and began to spread speculation in the comments about the couple, the nature of their relationship and others seen in the video. A fake statement from Byron was also distributed by an account impersonating a reporter."Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect," the company said.The company also disputed the rumors about a third employee being present at the concert and seen in the video.
