Meet Doreen Rott and her pet fish named Gregory. The two have been, well, buddies for about 6 years now, ever since Doreen purchased Gregory as *** little minnow in *** tropical fish store. Gregory is known as *** paku. That's an Amazon River native who has *** cousin known as *** piranha. But Gregory's no man-eater. He's, well, sort of *** domesticated fish who really enjoys cantaloupe and fresh nuts and fast food. Here. All right. Right over the lid on. When he was little and he's just *** little fish like this big, I would put my hand in the tank with him in *** small 5 gallon aquarium and put them right in my hand and pet him. So since he was really young, I started working with him really young. He's grown *** little. Uh, quite *** bit. Did he ever jump out of there? Seems like if he doesn't want me to go to work or wherever I'm going, he doesn't know, of course, he flips the lids on the tank and he'll have the water splash right over the onto the carpet, as though to say, don't, where are you going? Gregory does tricks too, by the way. He catches *** golf ball and runs around the tank with it. Doreen swears he does, but he doesn't do it when the TV cameras are rolling. And yes, he does, he really, really does like to be petted. Do we have an attitude problem unless they do. My big sweetheart, yes you are my love, yes you're my baby here. Whoa, oh Gregory. If you're *** little bit hungrier than I thought you were this morning. Well, Gregory's at least 6 years old and, well, as you can see, he's growing fish, unless it's she that's growing. In any event, Gregory needs probably *** new house. You know anybody that's got something for about 125, 150. Gallons Greg needs it. Well I'm Eric Smith reporting. Uh, let's, you're gonna go after the ball now, now that we're all done.

Doreen recalled how she started petting Gregory when he was just a small fish in a five-gallon tank, saying, "When he was little, I would put my hand in the tank and pet him." Gregory even had a knack for tricks, like catching a golf ball, although he was camera-shy when performing. Gregory’s playful side extended beyond tricks. Ge would flip the tank lids and splash water if he sensed Doreen leaving.
