The actress was born in Oak Park, Ill. on Jan. 17, 1922.
Her career spans more than 75 years.
She was the first woman to receive an Emmy award for Outstanding Game Show Host in 1983. The show was called "Just Men!" and aired from Jan. 3 to April 1, 1983.
White has won a total of eight Emmy awards and a Grammy award.
She loves animals and volunteers for several pro-animal organizations. In 2010, she was made an honorary forest ranger by the USDA Forest Service.
The actress previously that she loves vodka and hot dogs, "probably in that order."
She also considers herself an optimist.
“Enjoy life. Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look,” she added.
