Here are the best places to watch the New York City holiday parade.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade kicks off on Thursday at 9 a.m. Eastern time and 8 a.m. Central time. This year marks the popular parade’s 90th anniversary, so NBC will be airing a look back at previous routes and performances before the event begins. The 2016 parade will include Felix the Cat -- the first giant balloon from 1927 -- and the classic Peanuts character Snoopy. Sanrio's Hello Kitty will also celebrate her tenth year in the parade. The route begins at West 77 St. on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and ends on 34 St. near Herald Square.
