A 10-year-old girl who says she's being bullied at school can now count Hugh Jackman as her friend.
The "Wolverine" actor shared a for Cassidy Warner, a fourth-grader from Scranton, Pennsylvania, who last month posted a video about her experience with bullying at her elementary school. The viral video was recently reposted by Warner's mom after the young girl's Facebook page was taken down, according to the .
In a series of written signs, Warner explains that she started getting bullied in first grade. She writes that a group of kids "always come up to me during recess, trying to fight me. They hit me, kicked me, pulled my hair, pushed me, stepped on me, spit on me...
"Whenever I sit at a lunch table, the kids get up," she continues. "They threaten to kill me, and they tell me to kill myself."
At the end of the video, Warner asks that people share her story and put a stop to bullying — "not just for me, but for other kids, too."
Jackman — whose latest film, "," has an Oscar-nominated song that — shared Warner's viral video on Wednesday, along with a message of encouragement for the 10-year-old:
"Hi Cassidy .... I’m Hugh. I want you to know you’re loved, special & smart. You’re strong, funny & beautiful both inside and out. BULLYING IS NOT OK. Please never stop asking for help. You will find it from people and places you never thought possible. I’m your friend."
Warner's dad told the Scranton Times-Tribune that the school changed his daughter's lunch and recess periods in response to the video, the AP reported.
