BEAU BOWMAN vlog EIGHT NEWS. IOWA’S NEWS LEADER. A LIFELONG FARMER FROM HUMBOLDT COUNTY WANTS TO REPRESENT YOU IN CONGRESS. REPUBLICAN KYLE LARSON SAYS IT’S TIME FOR RURAL IOWA TO BE REPRESENTED BY SOMEONE WHO HAS EVERYDAY EXPERIENCE IN IOWA AGRICULTURE. vlog CHIEF POLITICAL REPORTER AMANDA ROOKER SAT DOWN WITH LARSON TO LEARN WHAT’S DRIVING HIS CAMPAIGN. KYLE LARSON GREW UP ON THIS HUMBOLDT COUNTY FARM. THIS FARM WAS PURCHASED BY MY GRANDFATHER IN 1951. HE NOW LIVES NEARBY WITH HIS WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS. HE WENT AND BOUGHT THIS FARM AND THE DAD WAS BORN. AND THEN THE REST IS HISTORY. WALKING PAST TOWERING ROWS OF CORN, HE SAYS HE’S FRUSTRATED WITH POLITICIANS WHO HE SAYS AREN’T DOING ENOUGH FOR EVERYDAY FARMERS. THE LAST FARM BILL HASN’T BEEN TOUCHED SINCE PRE-COVID, SO NOW HE’S RUNNING FOR A SEAT AT THE TABLE. DISTRICT FOUR NEEDS AN HONEST VOICE THAT CARES ABOUT IOWA AGRICULTURE AND RURAL IOWA EVERY DAY AND EVERY NIGHT, NOT JUST SOMEONE THAT THINKS ABOUT IT OR SAYS IT TO GET THE VOTE, LARSON SAYS. THE VOICE FOR IOWA’S FOURTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT NEEDS TO BE AN ACTIVE FARMER. WE ARE NUMBER ONE IN FARMERS IN THE DISTRICT, IN THE WHOLE US AND ALL CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS. WE PRODUCE THE MOST CORN, THE MOST SOYBEANS, THE MOST PIGS, THE MOST EGGS. IF ELECTED, HE WANTS TO FOCUS ON SCRAPPING THE ESTATE TAX, EXPANDING RURAL MANUFACTURING, AND BACKING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S AMERICA FIRST AGENDA. ONE OF MY PRIORITIES IS HELPING DONALD TRUMP WITH TRADE, BECAUSE IOWA PRODUCES SO MANY GOODS THAT GETS SHIPPED AROUND THE WORLD. THERE’S A COMMON SAYING THAT IOWA FARMERS FEED THE WORLD, AND THAT IS VERY REAL. WHILE TIME IN CONGRESS WOULD ALSO MEAN TIME AWAY FROM HIS YOUNG FAMILY, HE SAYS HIS WIFE TELLS HIM IT’S WORTH IT. “The last farm bill hasn’t been touched since pre-COVID,” Larsen said.

Now, he is stepping up to run for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, seeking a seat at the table for rural Iowans.

“District Four needs an honest voice that cares about Iowa agriculture and rural Iowa every day and every night,” Larsen said. “Not just someone that thinks about it or says it to get the vote.”

Larsen believes the district’s representative should understand the unique challenges and successes of farming, noting the significance of agriculture in Iowa's 4th Congressional District.

“We are number one in farmers in the district, in the whole U.S., and all congressional districts,” he said. “We produce the most corn, the most soybeans, the most pigs [and] the most eggs.”

If elected, Larsen said he plans to focus on eliminating the estate tax, expanding rural manufacturing, and supporting President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. Trade, in particular, is at the forefront of his priorities.

“One of my priorities is helping Donald Trump with trade, because Iowa produces so many goods that get shipped around the world,” Larsen said. “There’s a common saying that Iowa farmers feed the world, and that is very real.”

Larsen said his campaign aims to give Iowa farmers and rural communities a stronger voice in Congress, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed on a national stage.
