It was January, 1979 in Albuquerque, N.M. when Ron Kramer knocked Donna's door.
About a month later on Valentine's Day, he bought her chocolates from Buffett's Candies, a local sweets shop. He found out that the shop would refill the box every year, only charging for the candy inside. It was then that Ron began refilling the same heart-shaped box with chocolates from the same candy store for Valentine's Day every year. 39 years later, Ron is still practicing the tradition, despite how many changes their lives have gone through, especially since Donna was diagnosed with dementia in 2014.
