It was January, 1979 in Albuquerque, N.M. when Ron Kramer knocked Donna's door. About a month later on Valentine's Day, he bought her chocolates from Buffett's Candies, a local sweets shop. He found out that the shop would refill the box every year, only charging for the candy inside.
