Today, Anne Campolongo, Laura Terrell, Jodi Long and I were some of the lucky people who got to try some of the new menu items from the fair. The top three finalists for the fan favorite food Choice were also narrowed down In no particular order- The Lobster Corn Dog from Destinations Grille That is a lightly fried 6-oz lobster tail. There was an 'Iowa Sm'Oak'ed Roll' from 'Whatcha Smokin B-B-Q.' It's their version of a sushi roll... but with tenderloin as the star. Then the Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll from Winn and Sara's Kitche

The Iowa Craft Beer Tent will once again have several exclusive beers on its menu at the Iowa State Fair.The full list of beers at the Iowa Craft Beer Tent has not yet been publicly announced, but five new drinks were unveiled this week. Iowa Craft Beer Tent: New State Fair-exclusive beers for 2024Mini Donut Dunkel (Exile Brewing Company): The beer is described as a regal dark lager with cinnamon and vanilla.Dutch Letter Ale (Gezellig Brewing Co.): The Newton brewery is bringing this new drink, which it says contains almond paste, sugar and a touch of cinnamon.Pig Lebowski (Twin Span Brewing): The name gives this one away. The Pig Lebowski is a English brown ale that includes — you guessed it — bacon, along with maple syrup. Rainbow Sherbet Sour (Lake Time Brewery): The brewery describes this as a "playful and fruity concoction" featuring flavors similar to rainbow sherbet ice cream. The drink also includes notes of citrus fruit such as orange, lime and raspberry.Fair Fudge (Lion Bridge Brewing Company): The beer for chocolate lovers.
