Iowa football head coach Kirk Ferentz discusses love of the game, offense, and improved players at Big Ten Media Days
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz talked on the final day of Big Ten Media Days.
He talked about his love for the game and how he always just wanted to be "the best line coach I could be."
"I said earlier if it's ironic or interesting, it was never a goal of mine to be a head coach. I know for some people it's what they want to do. I just wanted to be the best line coach I could be. And the fact that I am a head coach, it just happened and probably the only place it would happen is Iowa. Mainly because I don't think I would've left the NFL for another job in the collegiate level," he said.
The Hawkeye coach said the offense is "a lot more fluid than it was a year ago" thanks to offensive coordinator Tim Lester.
Ferentz also made note that TJ Hall and Deshaun Lee are taking big strides and have improved a lot.
