THAT KIDS STAY WARM THIS WINTER. vlog OLIVIA TYLER TAKES US TO MARSHALLTOWN, WHERE MORE THAN 300 COATS WERE GIVEN TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS TODAY FOR FREE. IT MIGHT STILL FEEL LIKE SUMMER OUTSIDE, BUT HERE AT ANTHON ELEMENTARY IN MARSHALLTOWN, STUDENTS ARE GETTING A HEAD START ON THEIR WINTER FASHION THANKS TO OPERATION WARM. I LOVE YOUR COAT. DID YOU PICK IT? SHE DID. YEAH. ANSAN ELEMENTARY TEACHES KIDS FROM PRESCHOOL THROUGH FOURTH GRADE. AND TODAY, ALL OF THEM GOT A BRAND NEW COAT. IT’S PART OF OPERATION WARM, A NATIONAL NONPROFIT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL AND LENOX, A HEATING AND COOLING COMPANY. 355 JACKETS WERE PROVIDED. KIDS GOT TO PICK THEIR SIZE AND COLOR, AND EACH CHILD WAS PAIRED WITH A VOLUNTEER TO MAKE IT A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I’VE SEEN SOME EXCITED FACES, ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT GET TO PICK THEIR OWN COLORS. PROBABLY COLORS THAT THEIR PARENTS WOULDN’T HAVE PICKED OUT FOR THEM. SO JUST THE EXCITEMENT. IT’S THEIR LITTLE SHOPPING TRIP THAT THEY GET TO ENJOY. I THINK IT’S GREAT SEEING THE SMILES AND THEY’RE HAPPY AND HEY, IT’S A BRAND NEW COAT AND AND THAT WAY THEY THEY’RE SECURE EARLY FOR THE COLD RECESSES AHEAD. IN MARSHALLTOWN, OLIVIA TYLER
