MY DAD PUT ME ON BUCKING HORSES AND SAID, IF YOU’RE EITHER GOING TO LEARN OR YOU’RE GOING TO DIE, LAINE LEEPER IS A ROUGH STOCK RIDER FROM LEON, IOWA. THE 18 YEAR OLD COWBOY RIDES BUCKING HORSES AND BULLS AT THE RODEO. BEFORE I STARTED REALLY GETTING INTO IT, I. I WANTED TO BE A BASEBALL PLAYER. I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RODEO. MY SISTER, THAT’S WHAT SHE WANTED TO DO. SHE WANTED. SHE ALWAYS WENT WITH HIM EVERYWHERE. I STAYED HOME AND I WENT AND WATCHED THE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL GAMES WHEN THEY WERE AT HOME, LEEPER GOT SERIOUS ABOUT RODEOING WHEN HE WAS AROUND 10 OR 11 YEARS OLD. IT’S A BIG ADRENALINE RUSH. HE COMPETES IN THE BAREBACK RIDING, THE SADDLE BRONC RIDING AND THE BULL RIDING, BAREBACK RIDING. IN THE SADDLE BRONC RIDING, THERE’S NOT REALLY A BIG DIFFERENCE. IT’S JUST WHAT YOU USE, REALLY. IN, LEEPER IS RIDING IN HIS FOURTH STRAIGHT NATIONALS IN ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING. SO TO THINK THAT YOU’VE MADE IT THIS FAR AND NOW YOU’RE COMPETING IN NATIONALS IN FRONT OF ALL THESE PEOPLE, HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL? IT’S A LITTLE NERVE RACKING IN THE FIRST COUPLE ROUNDS, BUT AFTER YOU YOU SEE IT A COUPLE TIMES AND YOU’RE LIKE, OKAY, MY NERVES ARE KIND OF CHILLING DOWN A LITTLE BIT AND YOU GOT TO GET IN. YOUR MINDSET OF, THIS IS MY SHOW. I GOT TO DO THIS. SHANNON EARHART, vlog IOWA SPORTS LEADER. OH WOW, WHAT A STORY AND WHAT A NAME. LAINE LEEPER FROM LEON LOOKING FOR HIS FIRST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
