ANOTHER STAR IS EMERGING ON THE IOWA STATE DEFENSE. IF YOU DON’T KNOW THE NAME MARCUS NEAL BY NOW, IT’S PROBABLY TIME TO CHANGE THAT BECAUSE NEAL HAS STARTED TO ASSERT HIMSELF AS PERHAPS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE CYCLONE DEFENSE THIS SEASON. HE PLAYED 13 GAMES AS A TRUE FRESHMAN LAST YEAR, AND HE HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE THROUGH THREE GAMES HIS SOPHOMORE SEASON, HE LEADS THE TEAM WITH 22 TACKLES, NINE OF WHICH CAME IN LAST WEEK’S CY-HAWK WIN. THE MAN LOVES TO HIT. HE’S MAKING A STATEMENT. HE CAN WRECK PRACTICE, YOU KNOW, JUST BECAUSE HE’S HE PLAYS AT ONE SPEED AND HE PLAYS WITH SUCH GREAT CONSISTENCY. HE LOVES FOOTBALL. I’VE BEEN PLAYING FOOTBALL SINCE I WAS A LITTLE KID AND I ALWAYS LIKE, JUST LIKED TO HIT AND BE AGGRESSIVE. SO I FEEL LIKE I WAS JUST LIKE KIND OF BORN WITH A, LIKE JUST THAT DOG LIKE TO GO HIT AND STUFF LIKE THAT. BECAUSE I’VE BEEN PLAYING FOOTBALL SINCE I WAS LIKE FOUR YEARS OLD. TACKLE FOOTBALL. SO YEAH, DON’T WANT TO BE IN HIS WAY IN THE TRENCHES. SENIOR DOMINIC ORANGE CONTINUES TO BE GREAT, LEADING THE EFFORT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DEFENSIVE LINE. ORANGE HAD A CAREER HIGH SIX TACKLES AGAINST IOWA LAST WEEK WHILE GOING UP AGAINST ALL BIG TEN CENTER LOGAN JONES. HE RECEIVED THE BEDNARIK AWARD NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS FOR HIS EFFORTS AGAINST THE HAWKEYES. OVERALL, THE CYCLONES COMBINED FOR THREE QUARTERBACK HURRIES LAST WEEK AND TWO SACKS, HOLDING THE IOWA OFFENSE TO JUST 83 PASSING YARDS. THEY GOT PRESSURE ON MARK GRONOWSKI, AND ONE OF THE BIG CONTRIBUTORS WAS AN IVY LEAGUE TRANSFER, GETTING HIS FLOWERS FOR THE FOR THE PERFORMANCE. FORMER YALE BULLDOG TAMATOA MCDONOUGH WON THE BIG 12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOLLOWING HIS GAME WINNING FIELD GOAL. HE SACKED GRONOWSKI ON SECOND AND THIRD D
