Iowa weather: A few showers today, cooler later this week
Scattered showers will continue today mainly across the south and western parts of the state with some afternoon sunshine.
But we know as far as gosh, you know, this week goes *** little bit of up and down and it could get *** little chilly at times. I it definitely could, yeah, I mean we're gonna be, uh, we're gonna be seeing those temperatures sink *** little bit, but. You got *** nice day tomorrow if you're looking to head towards tomorrow again, we're gonna top out at 80 and should see *** decent amount of sunshine. I know some of us saw clouds to the north today, even some clouds and some rain for southwestern portions of the state, but we're dry for the time being and we head into the next 12 to 24 hours and keep your eye on northern portions of the state. We'll have *** chance at *** shower up there and watch to the west here as we could see *** decaying line of. Showers and storms push their way in into late Tuesday shouldn't amount to *** lot, but as we head into Wednesday, much more widespread showers will be pushing their way on through and behind that uh we're gonna be talking about cooler, drier air again highs are only gonna be tapping out in the upper 60s to low 70s, could be talking overnight lows for some of us dipping into the upper 30s eventually here. So that fall air. It's making *** return and as again, as far as how much rain you can expect to see, there will be pockets in excess of 0.5 of an inch, but I think most of us will be under 0.5 of an inch as these kind of duo of systems push their way on through. It'll be breezy though, especially behind that front we're seeing gusts upwards of 25, 30 MPH into the day on Thursday. We'll see more of the same, so *** breezy kind of ends to. The week but uh good that we're seeing *** little bit of rain though it doesn't at this point look like it will help the pollen counts. Usually it does. I think with the winds so high that's gonna offset that *** little bit. So high pollen counts look to continue for *** while here. You look at the next 8 days, *** chance for rain on Wednesday we talk about 72 there couple days in the 60s and then we slow build it back close to 80 as we. Work our way in towards next Tuesday. So enjoy the day tomorrow. We might start off with some clouds, but we've got sunny skies, and that's gonna help us warm back up to 80 degrees as we end the afternoon. You look at your night tonight. Temperatures only dropping down to 57, so fairly seasonable air is out there for us and again we're back up to 80 tomorrow. We'll have *** few clouds out there, but, uh, looks to be *** really beautiful day if you. Plans to be outside. Maybe you're going for *** run or *** bike ride or you're just going for *** walk. should be good for you as we work our way in towards the end of the week though, again, highs by dumping back down to 68 by Friday, 45 Thursday morning, 47 Saturday morning. The weekend looks picture perfect though, besides maybe *** little bit of cooler air in the mornings, we've got sunny skies with *** chance for *** shower returning on Monday.
