TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. AND JOHN, YOU MENTIONED EARLIER THAT WE ARE TRACKING SOME RAIN FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING OUT STILL TO THAT. WHAT SHOULD THEY PACK? SOMETHING? YEAH. YOU KNOW, ANY TYPE OF SHOWER THAT KIND OF MOVES IN, IT’S GOING TO MOVE RIGHT ON OUT. SO NOTHING TOO IMPACTFUL. BUT DON’T BE SURPRISED IF THERE ARE SOME LITTLE DRIZZLES ON YOUR EVENING PLANS. WE ARE STAYING CLOUDY AND ALSO STAYING COOL AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT FEW DAYS. RAIN CHANCES ARE CLIMBING, HOWEVER, NOT JUST FOR TONIGHT. IT’S EVER SO SLIGHTLY MORE, SO DEEPER INTO THE NEW WORKWEEK. BREEZY ON WEDNESDAY. THAT’S ALSO GOING TO BRING SOME RAIN CHANCES AS WELL, SO LET’S TIME OUT THE THE SHOWERS OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. THIS IS 10:00 STILL FAVORING AREAS SOUTH OF I-80. BUT IT DOES KIND OF BRANCH OUT MORE CENTRAL IOWA GOING INTO NORTHERN IOWA. AS WE GO DEEPER INTO OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. BUT NOTICE IT’S REALLY BROKEN UP. SO THAT’S WHY IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE FINDING YOURSELF UNDERNEATH A SHOWER LATER ON TODAY OR TONIGHT RATHER, AND GOING INTO TOMORROW MORNING, IT’S GOING TO BE PASSING PRETTY QUICKLY AS WELL. BUT LET’S JUMP DEEPER INTO THIS FORECAST AS WE TALK ABOUT SUNDAY. MORE CLOUDS, BUT WE SHOULD HAVE SOME BREAKS JUST SQUEAKING A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE LATER INTO SUNDAY AFTERNOON. NOW MONDAY A CHANCE FOR SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS AS WE START TO SEE MORE CLOUDS BUILD BACK IN. AND THEN A COLD FRONT MOVES IN OVER TUESDAY. THAT’S THE WET AND COLD DAY POSSIBILITY OF A WASHOUT. THAT’S THE BEST CHANCE OF RAIN MOVING FORWARD. THAT’S GOING TO COME ON TUESDAY. MAINLY GOING LATE MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON. HERE’S THE EIGHT DAY FORECAST WEDNESDAY. STILL HOLDING ON TO THAT. BUT THIS IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. THE BREEZE MOVING IN. LOOK AT THESE NORTHERLY WIND GUSTS FOR WEDNESDAY. THEY’RE GOING TO BE FAVORING THAT 20 UP TO AROUND 35 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS. EVEN POSSIBILITY OF CLOSER. THERE’S A LOT OF TIME FOR THESE WINDS TO CHANGE. BUT I WANT TO GIVE YOU A HEADS UP MIDWEEK. THAT’S WHENEVER THOSE GUSTS ARE GOING TO KICK IT IN GEAR. AND THAT’S ALSO WHENEVER WE START TO SEE SOME OF THOSE COOLER TEMPERATURES MOVE IN RIGHT AROUND HALLOWEEN TIME. OF COURSE, THAT’S FRIDAY. SO THE FORECAST FOR HALLOWEEN AS OF NOW, OF COURSE, AGAIN, A LOT OF TIME BETWEEN NOW AND THEN FOR TRICK OR TREATERS, BONE DRY. BUT IT IS LOOK, IT WILL BE A LITTLE CHILLY, ESPECIALLY AS WE GET TO AROUND THE 8:00 HOUR FALLING BACK INTO THE 40S. AND FOR THE SPOTS IT’S STILL ARE GOING TO BE DOING BEGGARS NIGHT. THIS IS THE THURSDAY EVENING SLOT. WE’RE GOING TO STILL HAVE THOSE CHILLY TEMPERATURES STILL LOOKING FAIRLY DRY AS WE CONTINUE THROUGH T

We are sticking with the clouds and cool temps for the rest of the evening and overnight.Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts | SkycamsSoutherly flow aloft has brought back the moisture in mid and upper levels which is a textbook set up for stubborn clouds through tonight and into Sunday. Temperatures overnight will not drop very much due to the cloud blanket, so expect lows to stay in the 50s and mid to upper 40s over the state.Sunday will bring more clouds and a few showers into the morning, but we lose the rain chance and add some sun in the afternoon. There should be enough thinning of the clouds to climb highs into the 60s. The clouds won't completely clear the state into the new work week. Monday will still feature mostly cloudy skies with additional isolated showers possible as the next system approaches. A cold front will pass over Tuesday that will cause some steady showers for most of the day. Showers will try to hold on for some of Wednesday as well, but the stronger winds will return midweek. Gusts are looking to range between 20 to 30 mph. Temperatures will stay cool all week long with highs in the 50s. Expect 40s for lows until Thursday morning when 30s return. Most of the state will stay above freezing with the chance for some low 30s to the north. We could see some patchy frost as we get closer to the end of next week. Beggars' night and Halloween are looking dry and chilly with low 50s and 40s for the trick or treaters.
