Iowa weather: Fall-like feel sticks around for Tuesday

Iowa weather: Fall-like feel sticks around for Tuesday
THAT PROCESS WAS REALLY COOL TO CHECK OUT. AND WE SAW BEHIND IT THE CLEAR BLUE SKIES. YEAH. COULDN’T HAVE HAD BETTER WEATHER FOR THAT TODAY. AND FOR ANYTHING YOU HAD TO DO OUTSIDE. IT WAS A FANTASTIC DAY. WELL, WE GOT ANOTHER ONE IN STORE FOR TOMORROW. IF YOU HAVEN’T HAD ENOUGH OF IT YET. WE HAVE ANOTHER REALLY FALL LIKE DAY IN THE FORECAST HERE FOR YOUR TUESDAY. FEELING LIKE FALL, ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING WHEN WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TEMPERATURES BACK DOWN INTO THE MID AND UPPER 40S HERE ALL ACROSS THE STATE. SOMEBODY COULD BE AS COOL AS ABOUT 4445 DEGREES TO START THE DAY. I THINK WILL BE IN THE UPPER 40S HERE IN THE METRO, WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS TO ROLL IN BY MIDWEEK. AND THAT’S GOING TO BRING US A CHANCE FOR SOME SPOTTY SHOWERS EARLY ON WEDNESDAY. YOU CAN SEE THIS ROUND OF CLOUDS ROLLING IN WITH SOME VERY SCATTERED SHOWERS PUSHING ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA. MOST PEOPLE PROBABLY NOT GOING TO GET RAIN OUT OF THIS, BUT THERE COULD BE SOME VERY LIGHT RAIN IN THE MORNING. THE CHANCES CONTINUE INTO THE LATE MORNING AND AFTERNOON ACROSS MAINLY NORTHERN IOWA, BUT YOU CAN SEE IT’S NOT REALLY GOING TO BE A BIG RAIN MAKER. BUT JUST OUR FIRST RAIN CHANCE IN A LITTLE WHILE. IT’S ALSO GOING TO COME WITH SOME WARMER TEMPERATURES. WE’RE TALKING 70 AGAIN TOMORROW, BUT BY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY WE DO BOUNCE BACK UP INTO THE LOW 80S. AND THIS IS REALLY CLOSER TO WHERE WE SHOULD BE THIS TIME OF YEAR. AVERAGE HIGHS ARE STILL AROUND 83 DEGREES, BUT THE HUMIDITY REMAINS LOW, SO IT’S NOT GOING TO FEEL TOO HOT OUT THERE. AND THEN FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY HEADING INTO THE UPCOMING WEEKEND, WE’RE BACK DOWN INTO THE 70S. SO REALLY LOOKING NICE HERE TO END THE WEEK. PLENTY MORE REALLY NICE WEATHER TO GET OUTSIDE. ALL QUIET OUT THERE NOW. SKIES ARE CLEAR, HIGH PRESSURE IS SETTLING IN ALMOST OVERHEAD AND THAT’S BRINGING US CALM WINDS AT THIS HOUR. AND THAT’S GOING TO ALLOW OUR TEMPERATURES TO CONTINUE TO DROP. SO AT THE TOP OF THE HOUR, WE’RE SITTING AT 60 DEGREES HERE IN DES MOINES. ALTHOUGH MOST OF THE AREA IS ALREADY DOWN INTO THE 50S. 53 IN IOWA FALLS, 54 IN FORT DODGE. IT’S 54 IN AMES. AND LOOK IT UP IN NORTHWEST IOWA. SPENCER ALREADY DOWN TO 50. THEY GOT DOWN TO 40 EARLIER THIS MORNING. DON’T THINK THEY’LL BE COLD THAT THAT COLD THIS TONIGHT. BUT IT’S DEFINITELY GOING TO BE COOL OUT THERE. YOU CAN SEE THE WINDS CALM FOR ALMOST EVERYBODY. THREE MILE AN HOUR BREEZE IN SHERIDAN. THREE MILE AN HOUR BREEZE IN CARROLL. NOT MUCH WIND. THOSE WINDS WILL REMAIN LIGHT INTO TOMORROW AS WELL. SO DEFINITELY GOING TO BE ON THE COOL SIDE HERE TONIGHT. LOWS AROUND 49 DEGREES IN THE METRO OUTSIDE OF THE METRO. LIKELY A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN THAT WITH LIGHT WINDS HEADING INTO TOMORROW. EXPECTING LOTS OF SUNSHINE THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. A FEW CLOUDS KIND OF ROLLING IN THE AFTERNOON. THAT’S THAT LITTLE WAVE OF ENERGY THAT’S GOING TO BRING US A CHANCE FOR SOME SHOWERS HEADING INTO WEDNESDAY. SO CLOSER LOOK AT THAT. YOU CAN SEE EARLY IN THE MORNING VERY SCATTERED SHOWERS PASSING BY THE METRO PROBABLY BY SUNRISE. THAT RAIN IS ALREADY PAST THE METRO, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE CHANCE CONTINUES ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON. OTHERWISE, LOOKING AT YOUR FORECAST FOR YOUR TUESDAY, PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. HIGHS AROUND 7576 FOR MOST OF US. JUST A BEAUTIFUL DAY. WEDNESDAY A LITTLE BIT WARMER WITH SPOTTY SHOWERS. 8182 ON THURSDAY. MORE SUNSHINE AND THEN VERY COMFORTABLE COMING INTO THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND.
