Iowa weather: Clouds and a breeze for Halloween, with a few flakes of snow possible late
WHERE THERE AREN’T TOO MANY HILLS FOR THAT TO HAPPEN AND PEOPLE OUT TONIGHT AND THEN GOING OUT TOMORROW NIGHT NEED TO BUNDLE UP. YEAH. IT’S COLD. I MEAN, IT’S IT’S ALREADY CHILLY OUT THERE. AND AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW MORNING, A LOT OF US ARE GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT TEMPERATURES DIPPING TOWARDS FREEZING AND WILL ONLY TOP OUT AT 51 TOMORROW. IT IS GOING TO BE BREEZY TOO, SO MORE THAN LIKELY GOING TO BE FEELING LIKE IT’S IN THE 40S ALL DAY BECAUSE OF THAT WIND OUT OF THE NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 20MPH, BUT SHOULD SEE A GOOD AMOUNT OF SUNSHINE EARLY ON BEFORE CLOUDS START TO FILTER THEIR WAY BACK IN. AND LOOKING AT THE REST OF YOUR WEEKEND, IT’S GOING TO BE WARMER THAN SATURDAY. DEFINITELY THE COLDEST DAY WE’VE HAD SINCE WHAT LAST SPRING. WE TOP OUT AT 46 DEGREES AND WE’RE UP TO 54 ON SUNDAY, SO A LITTLE BIT WARMER IN THE LATTER HALF OF YOUR WEEKEND. KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE STATE. WE’LL HAVE SOME SHOWERS THAT ARE GOING TO SAG THEIR WAY ON IN AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE NIGHT. FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY, AND THERE’S A CHANCE YOU CAN SEE THESE AREAS IN BLUE HERE. THERE’S A CHANCE SOME OF US SEE OUR FIRST SNOWFLAKES OF THE SEASON OUT THERE EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. NOT GOING TO ACCUMULATE, NOT GOING TO AMOUNT TO MUCH AS SURFACE IS JUST TOO WARM FOR THAT. BUT DON’T BE SURPRISED. EVEN INTO THE METRO HERE, IF WE SEE A FEW SNOW SHOWERS OR A FEW SNOW FLURRIES OUT THERE, THAT BATCH OF MOISTURE IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO KIND OF PINWHEEL ITS WAY SOUTHWARD. BY 1 P.M. WE’VE GOT SOME BREAKS, BUT STILL DEALING WITH AT LEAST A SCATTERED SHOWER ACTIVITY OUT THERE. AND THEN THAT BREAKS AND SKIES CLEAR. WINDS DIE DOWN SUNDAY MORNING LOOKING PRETTY COLD OUT THERE AGAIN. A LOT OF US ARE GOING TO BE DIPPING TOWARDS FREEZING OR SO, AND WINDS DO PICK UP TOMORROW. YOU LOOK AT THE AFTERNOON, WE’RE AROUND 25 TO 30MPH, ENOUGH TO KEEP THOSE GHOSTS AND GHOULS BLOWN AWAY. AND AS WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY, IT LIGHTENS DOWN SOMEWHAT 20 TO 25MPH BEFORE PICKING BACK UP INTO SUNDAY. SO KIND OF A BLUSTERY STRETCH HERE FOR US AS WE WORK OUR WAY THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND. YOUR WIND CHILLS. I KNOW NOBODY REALLY WANTS TO THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS, BUT IT’S THAT TIME OF SEASON, UPPER 20S TO LOW 30 SATURDAY MORNING SUNDAY MORNING LOOKS TO TAKE THE CAKE THERE AS WE DIP BACK DOWN INTO THE MID 20S ACROSS A GOOD PORTION OF IOWA. SO HANG ON TO THAT WARM WEATHER GEAR. YOU’RE GOING TO NEED IT FOR A FEW MORE DAYS, BUT YOU’LL BE ABLE TO DITCH IT SOON ENOUGH AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT WEEK. THOSE TEMPERATURES PUSH BACK TO 60 BY MONDAY. SUNNY SKIES, NO REAL CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION NEXT WEE
