Iowa weather: Cooling down into the first week of school

Iowa weather: Cooling down into the first week of school
BEFORE. TODAY WAS THE PERFECT TIME TO GO WATCH THE GAME OUTSIDE. OH YEAH, AND THAT GREAT WEATHER IS CARRYING US THROUGH THIS ENTIRE WEEKEND. IT IS? YEAH. LOOK AT THESE HIGHS. WE’RE STILL GOING TO BE HANGING OUT IN THOSE LOW 70S. EVEN SOME UPPER 60S WILL BE STRUGGLING TO GET OUT OF THE 60S JUST OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. AND THEN WE’LL BE STARTING TO REBOUND A LITTLE BIT MORE. WARMER STILL NICE. AS WE GET DEEPER INTO THE WORKWEEK, BUT THE FUTURE TEMPERATURES GOING THROUGH THE REST OF THIS EVENING. BY 10:00, WE’RE NOW COMFORTABLY INTO THE 60S, EVEN STARTING TO SEE SOME 50S POP UP. BUT MAINLY AS WE GET PAST MIDNIGHT, THEN THAT’S WHEN THE ENTIRE STATE WILL BE HANGING OUT IN THOSE 50S, AND WE’LL BE WAKING UP LOW 50S TO MID 50S FOR OUR SUNDAY MORNING. AS WE LOOK AT THE RADAR RIGHT NOW, SATELLITE IS PICKING UP ON SOME BROKEN CLOUDS. NO RAIN CHANCES FOR US. AND AS WE GO INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, THE CLOUDS ARE GOING TO CLEAR ON OUT EVEN MORE. THE WINDS ARE GOING TO CALM DOWN EVEN MORE, BUT THEY’RE GOING TO BE PICKING UP AS WE GO THROUGHOUT SUNDAY. THIS IS THE AFTERNOON AGAIN. EXPECT ABOUT A 15 TO 20 MILE PER HOUR WIND GUSTS AS WE GO THROUGHOUT OUR LAST DAY OF THE WEEKEND. LAST DAY OF SUMMER FOR THE KIDS BECAUSE MONDAY IS WHENEVER SCHOOL KICKS BACK UP, BUT WE’RE GOING TO BE DEALING WITH CLEAR SKIES AS WE GO INTO SUNDAY EVENING. GOING INTO MONDAY. BUT THE TEMPERATURES REALLY BOTTOM OUT. THE KIDS AT THE BUS STOP IN THE UPPER 40S, RIGHT NEAR 50 DEGREES. SO THEY’RE GOING TO APPRECIATE THAT LIGHT LAYER, MAYBE JUST A HOODIE, A SWEATER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, SOMETHING TO SHED LATER ON IN THE AFTERNOON BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO BE WARMING UP NOTICEABLY WARMER AS WE GET INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THEN WE’LL HAVE HIGHS BACK RIGHT NE

Quite the different day compared to the hot and humid week we’ve had. Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts Temperatures struggled to climb deep into the 70s due to the dropping dew points and breezy northwest winds. Skies will remain clear into the evening and this will set us up for some cooler mornings ahead. We aren’t going to be dropping too far for the weekend with lows staying mostly in the 50s Sunday morning. Some areas, especially northern Iowa, could see some 40s in the morning, but we should be climbing into the upper 60s to low 70s over the state in the afternoon. Expect another breezy day as drier air is still settling in. Monday and Tuesday will be the coolest mornings with 40s returning. The kids will be a little cool at the bus stop, but w should warm up to tshirt weather for the afternoon. There aren’t any great rain chances moving forward into next week. We could start to see some additional cloud cover later in the week which could also spark some very isolated showers, but no high-confidence storm chances expected. Even the humidity will be staying low all of next week as we wrap up the month of August. Iowa weather forecast:Today: Mostly clear. Low 54F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.Tonight: Mostly clear. Low 54F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.Tomorrow: Generally sunny despite a few afternoon clouds. High around 72F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.Tomorrow Night: Clear. Low near 49F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
