SPREAD A GOOD MESSAGE. YEAH, WE ARE WATCHING SOME STORMS MOVE ACROSS OUR STATE TONIGHT. YEAH. AND WE’VE EVEN SEEN SOME STRONGER STORMS POP UP. AS WE MENTIONED EARLIER, WE MAY BE ABLE TO SEE THAT. AND YOU LOOK DOWN RIGHT NOW. FAR SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE MOUNT AIR THROUGH KELLERTON. WE’VE GOT A STRONG STORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL TO THE TOWN AROUND THE TUNE OF AROUND AN INCH OR SO. AND THAT CORE RIGHT OVER THE TOP OF MOUNT AIR RIGHT NOW, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT HAS JUST SLIGHTLY SHIFTED ITS WAY TO THE EAST. SO THAT THANKFULLY, HAS WEAKENED JUST A LITTLE BIT IN THE LAST SCAN. SO HAIL SIZES SHOULD HAVE DECREASED SOME. WE’VE GOT MORE RUMBLERS THOUGH. SOUTHWEST AND MORAVIA NORTH OF CENTERVILLE. THESE ARE MOVING EASTWARD AROUND 15MPH OR SO. SO A GOOD THING. SLOW MOVERS MEANS A LITTLE BIT MORE MUCH NEEDED RAIN THAT WILL BE FALLING OVER THE TOP OF YOU. OTTUMWA ABOUT TO GET A LITTLE BIT OF A DRINK THERE TOO. SOUTHEAST TO AMES AMES PROBABLY GETTING A REALLY GOOD SHOW UP IN THE SKY RIGHT NOW WITH ALL THE LIGHTNING. THIS LITTLE GUY IS PRODUCING. AGAIN, NOT SEEING ANYTHING SEVERE OUT THERE TONIGHT, BUT THOSE ARE THE STORMS THAT I’M WATCHING AS THIS AREA CONTINUES TO DEVELOP. WE’LL LIKELY CONTINUE TO SEE THIS INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS WELL. SO LET’S TRACK THAT OUT FOR YOU. HERE YOU CAN SEE STORMS TO THE SOUTH RACE THEIR WAY TO THE EAST BY 4 A.M., LARGELY OUT OF THE VIEWING AREA, AND WE LOOK AT THE DAY TOMORROW AND ANYTHING BUT A WASHOUT. WE ARE LOOKING AT LEAST LIKE A GOOD DAY AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS. BY EVENING, THAT BOUNDARY LIGHTS UP AGAIN. AREAS FROM DECORAH, WATERLOO, SOUTH THROUGH AMES ALL THE WAY TO COUNCIL BLUFFS. WE’LL SEE SHOWERS AND WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE. SEVERE THREAT WITH THOSE IS LOW, BUT MUCH LIKE TONIGHT, WE HAVE THAT CHANCE FOR SOME SMALL HAIL AND THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME GUSTY WINDS. AND BY THURSDAY YOU CAN SEE MORE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WORKING THEIR WAY IN FROM THE WEST. THAT IS GOING TO AGAIN PUSH ITS WAY EASTWARD INTO FRIDAY MORNING AND EVENTUALLY, I’D SAY AFTER AROUND 1 OR 2 P.M. FRIDAY, WE START TO CLEAR ALL OF THAT OUT, BUT STILL A CHANCE WE COULD SEE SOME LOW, SLIGHTLY STRONGER STORMS OUT THERE TONIGHT. WE HAVE WHAT’S CONSIDERED A MARGINAL RISK, WHICH IS A LEVEL ONE OUT OF FIVE RISK AND MORE OF THE SAME OUT THERE TOMORROW WITH THE LEVEL ONE RISK AGAIN, BUT STILL CHANCES TO SEE SOME BENEFICIAL RAIN. I KNOW IT KIND OF STINKS WHEN IT LINES UP WITH IMPORTANT EVENTS, BUT I THINK WE’LL TAKE THE RAIN. YOU CAN SEE THERE’S SOME COULD BE SOME SPOTS WITH QUITE A BIT OF IT, WITH HOW SLOW MOVING THOSE STORMS WILL BE TEMPERATURE WISE TOMORROW. WE’RE BACK UP INTO THE MIDDLE 70S AND WE’LL BE CLOUDY FOR MUCH OF THE DAY. SHOULD SEE SOME BREAKS, BUT PLAN ON THOSE ISOLATED SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THE LATER WE GET INTO THE DAY, THE HIGHER THE LIKELIHOOD WILL BE FOR THAT 74. IN THE METRO TOMORROW. WITH THAT CHANCE FOR A STORM, 73 FOR FORT DODGE ALGONA COMING IN AT 69 OTTUMWA, NEARLY 80 DEGREES. AND THOSE TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO WIND BACK DOWN 67 ON FRIDAY. WE’RE BOUNCING BACK, THOUGH, AFTER

The better chance for storms will be later this evening into Wednesday early morning.Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts These storms will have a low chance to become severe, but we are in a marginal severe weather risk (1 out of 5). A couple severe thunderstorms with some hail and gusty winds cannot be ruled out but there is no tornado threat for Iowa. A very slow moving, and even stationary at times, system will be over the Midwest this week, which will lead to these extended rain/storm chances. We won't see these come to an end until a cold front sweeps over Iowa Thursday night into Friday morning. We will finally catch a break from the rain Friday afternoon through Saturday. Until then, expect showers and storms with the highest chances Wednesday and Thursday. The weekend will be cooler and breezy. The break from the rain will not last as showers return Sunday and storm chances will be back Monday and Tuesday. Iowa weather forecastToday: Mostly cloudy early, then afternoon sunshine. High 67F.
