The heat is kicking into high gear as we head into the weekend. Fortunately for us, the humidity does not look to be that high as we head into Saturday and Sunday. This means that the heat index won’t be like what we’ve seen earlier in the summer, so we are not looking at heat index values well into the triple digits.

The 90s are with us at least through Tuesday of next week. We have the potential to tie a record high temperature both Saturday and Sunday. Not for sure a slam dunk, but we will be close to those thresholds as we head into the weekend.
The smoke and haze has been limited today, but a thin layer of smoke will linger tonight into the day tomorrow. Air quality will likely fluctuate between good and moderate over the evening and into the start of the day tomorrow.
Our rain chances continue to be very limited over the next week. Our next best chance to see some raindrops comes by late Sunday evening. Those chances will be fairly spotty across the state.
Aside from Sunday, our next chance for any precipitation may not come again until next Thursday.
Once we get through this stretch of 90s, the temperatures should mellow out back closer to average by the latter part of next week.
