Iowa weather: Less humid days coming
IT LOOKS GOOD. YES. I’D BE AWFULLY HOT TO BE IN ONE OF THOSE PRETTY, PRETTY DRESSES ON A DAY LIKE TODAY. EVEN JUST MY DRESS OUTSIDE. YOU KNOW, WALKING TO YOUR CAR, IT’S HOT AND IT’S GOING TO STAY HUMID ONE MORE DAY BEFORE WE KIND OF GET A BREAK BY THE MIDDLE PART OF THE WORKWEEK. BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, LIKELY, WE’LL START TO SEE SOME CHANGES, AT LEAST IN THE HUMIDITY DEPARTMENT. HERE’S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW. WE’VE GOT TEMPERATURES RIGHT AT 80. FEELS MORE LIKE THE MID 80S HERE IN DES MOINES. MOSTLY CLEAR SKY DEW POINTS THOUGH INTO THE 70S AGAIN. THAT’S WHEN YOU START TO GET THAT OPPRESSIVE KIND OF TROPICAL LIKE FEEL THAT WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT SINCE THE WEEKEND. AND THE RAIN HAS SHIFTED WELL OFF TO OUR EAST, SO WE SHOULD KEEP IT QUIET THROUGH THE REST OF THE NIGHT. TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES RUNNING A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN YESTERDAY AT THIS SAME TIME. BUT REMEMBER, WE STILL HAVE THAT HUMIDITY IN PLAY AND THAT’S WHAT’S MAKING IT FEEL KIND OF MISERABLE TO BE OUTSIDE THE HEAT INDEX RIGHT NOW FEELS LIKE THE UPPER 70S TO LOW TO MID 80S HERE IN DES MOINES, OSKALOOSA, CRESTON, THOSE THREE SPOTS COMING IN WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES SITTING IN THE MID 80S HERE FOR THE 10:00 HOUR. SO IT’S STILL GOING TO BE A WARM AND MUGGY ONE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. WE SHOULD KEEP IT QUIET. A FEW CLOUDS MOVING BACK IN, MAYBE SOME PATCHY FOG IN THE MORNING TO START OFF YOUR TUESDAY, BUT THEN BY THE AFTERNOON I THINK THOSE CLOUDS MIX OUT AND WE’RE BACK TO SUNSHINE HEADING INTO TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. CHANCE FOR STORMS INTO FAR WESTERN IOWA HERE AS WE GO INTO TUESDAY NIGHT, AND THEN WE WILL HEAD BACK INTO WEDNESDAY. I THINK WE ARE BACK WITH MORE SUNSHINE AND TEMPERATURES ARE HANGING INTO THE 80S FOR ONE MORE DAY. WELL, FOR A COUPLE MORE DAYS, I SHOULD SAY UPPER 80S FOR ONE MORE DAY. CLOSER TO 90 HERE TOMORROW. THEN BY WEDNESDAY WE’RE TALKING MID 80S. WE’LL HANG OUT IN THE LOW 80S, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. AND UNFORTUNATELY THE HUMIDITY STICKS AROUND FOR TWO MORE DAYS. AND THEN I THINK BY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY IT’S DEFINITELY MORE COMFORTABLE, MORE PLEASANT TO BE OUT THERE AS WE HIT THE END PART OF THE WORKWEEK. SO TONIGHT, UPPER 60S TO LOW 70S, TOMORROW’S FORECAST PUTS US INTO THE LOW 80S HERE THROUGH LUNCHTIME. AND THEN WE’RE IN THE MID 80S BY THREE 4:00 TOMORROW AFTERNOON. SO WE’LL HEAT THINGS UP THROUGH THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY, MOST OF US INTO THE MID 80S. BY TOMORROW AFTERNOON, SOME PATCHY FOG POSSIBLE IN THE MORNING THOUGH, ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN TIER OF THE STATE. EIGHT DAY FORECAST KEEPS US WITH SUNSHINE AND SUNNY SKIES ALL THE WAY THROUGH FRIDAY. WE’RE TALKING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY INTO THE UPPER 70S TO LOW 80S, AND THEN WE’LL HANG OUT IN THE 70S THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK, SO SHOULD BE PRETTY COMFORTABLE AS WE HEAD INTO THE NEXT EIGHT DAYS. STARTING ON MONDAY OF NEXT WEEK. LOTS OF SUNSHINE A
