vlog, AND SOME OF YOU MIGHT REMEMBER THIS YOUNG METEOROLOGIST IN THE MAKING, TO WALKER RAMIREZ OF WAUKEE WAS IOWA STATE’S FIRST KID CAPTAIN THIS SEASON. BACK THEN, HE SAID HE REALLY WANTED TO MEET vlog JASON SYDEJKO. AND LAST WEEK IT HAPPENED. HE GOT HIS WISH AT BLANK PARK ZOO NIGHT EYES, WHERE JASON WAS OUT HANGING WITH THE DINOSAURS AND WITH WALKER AS WELL. JUST KIND OF A DREAM COME TRUE. VERY COOL THERE. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON TV. WALKER, AND HOPEFULLY WORKING WITH US. YEAH. GOT TO SEE JASON INTERVIEW HIM LIVE. AND HE WAS SUPER EXCITED. I LOVE THAT. AND NIGHT EYES IS AWESOME. LAST NIGHT IT WAS NOT TOO BAD WEATHER WISE. LIKE IT’S LIKE, WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT THIS LATE IN OCTOBER? EXACTLY WHAT YOU EXPECT IN THE SECOND HALF OF OCTOBER. AND IT LOOKS LIKE MORE OF THAT ON THE WAY HERE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. CERTAINLY HEADING OUT THE DOOR THIS MORNING, IT’S GOING TO BE A LITTLE CHILLY, A LITTLE FROSTY TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S, BUT NOT BAD HERE. BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE AFTERNOON AND PRETTY MILD DAY WITH HIGHS AROUND 62, WHICH, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IS ACTUALLY ABOVE AVERAGE HERE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. PRETTY QUIET ALL ACROSS THE STATE THIS MORNING. NOT MUCH SHOWING UP ON OUR SATELLITE RADAR PICTURE. WE DO HAVE A FEW CLOUDS ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN AND SOUTHWESTERN IOWA THAT HAS KEPT YOUR TEMPERATURES A LITTLE BIT WARMER, SOME 40S AS YOU GET INTO FAR SOUTHWEST IOWA. HIGH PRESSURE STILL IN CONTROL OF OUR WEATHER RIGHT NOW. KEEPING THINGS QUIET. BUT THERE’S A STORM SYSTEM OVER COLORADO RIGHT NOW. LOOK AT THE MOISTURE ACROSS KANSAS PUSHING INTO MISSOURI. SOME OF THAT’S GOING TO TRY TO LIFT UP INTO IOWA AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND. BUT IT’S GOING TO RUN INTO THIS AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE. SO THAT’S GOING TO KEEP MOST OF THAT MOISTURE DOWN TO OUR SOUTH. BUT I DO THINK WE’LL SEE AT LEAST A FEW SHOWERS SNEAK THEIR WAY UP INTO THE STATE HERE. BY THE TIME WE GET TO TOMORROW AFTERNOON OR TOMORROW EVENING. RIGHT NOW, 39 DEGREES HERE IN THE METRO WITH A CALM WIND. BEAUTIFUL MORNING OUT THERE. 31 IN AMES, 13 FORT DODGE, MASON CITY, DOWN ABOUT 28. SO ANOTHER PRETTY GOOD FREEZE ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND EASTERN PARTS OF THE STATE. NOTICE THOUGH, CLARINDA COMING IN AT 43 WITH THOSE CLOUDS OUT THERE THIS MORNING. WINDS ARE LIGHT. THEY WILL PICK UP A LITTLE BIT THOUGH AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON SOUTHEAST BREEZE, MAYBE UP TO ABOUT 15 MILES AN HOUR OR SO. THAT, COMBINED WITH AT LEAST SOME SUNSHINE OUT THERE TODAY, WILL MEAN TEMPERATURES SHOULD RECOVER PRETTY NICELY AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON. SO DEFINITELY CHILLY EARLY THIS MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S, BUT BY NOON WE’RE BACK UP INTO THE MID 50S WITH PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. THE CLOUDS WILL INCREASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY, BUT I STILL THINK WE GET UP TO ABOUT 63 DEGREES FOR A HIGH HERE IN THE METRO. THOSE CLOUDS BRINGING THAT CHANCE FOR A LITTLE BIT OF MOISTURE. BUT IT’S GOING TO HOLD OFF UNTIL TOMORROW. YOU CAN SEE SUNSHINE HERE THROUGH THE LUNCH HOUR, AND THEN THOSE CLOUDS SLOWLY FILTERING IN DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. SOME SPRINKLES AS YOU GET BACK INTO NEBRASKA HERE THIS AFTERNOON. BUT THEY DRY UP AS THEY TRY TO MOVE INTO IOWA. JUST SOME CLOUDS AS WE HEAD INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. INTO YOUR SATURDAY. THAT DOES MEAN WE WON’T BE AS COLD TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. LOWS IN THE 40S INSTEAD OF THE 30S, BUT NOTICE LOTS OF CLOUDS TOMORROW AND MAYBE JUST A COUPLE OF SPRINKLES HERE AND THERE. THE BETTER RAIN CHANCES WILL BE STAYING DOWN TO OUR SOUTH ACROSS KANSAS AND MISSOURI. SO JUST A COUPLE OF SPRINKLES OUT THERE WILL BE COOLER TOMORROW. A HIGH 56 BACK UP TO 62 ON SUNDAY. SLIGHTLY BETTER CHANCE FOR SOME SHOWERS MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. THAT KEEPS US COOL ON TUESDAY AND LOOK AT PARTLY SUN
