Iowa weather: Some heavy rain still possible

Iowa weather: Some heavy rain still possible
DONE A LOT OF GOOD. ALL RIGHT. WELL, WE KNOW COMING OUR WAY, AT LEAST FOR PARTS OF OUR STATE, SOME RAIN AS WE HEAD INTO OUR SATURDAY. YEAH, JUST IN THE MORNING, ESPECIALLY FIRST PART OF THE DAY ON SATURDAY. OVERNIGHT PREDAWN HOURS. I THINK WE COULD GET SOME MAYBE SOME HEAVIER SHOWERS, SOME THUNDERSTORMS CLOSER TO THE METRO AREA BY THE START OF THE DAY TOMORROW. HERE’S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON RADAR RIGHT NOW. NOT TOO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT CURRENTLY FOR THE 10:00 HOUR, WE’VE GOT A FEW SHOWERS DOWN ACROSS SOUTHERN IOWA, BASICALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 34. WE HEAD UP CLOSER TOWARDS JASPER COUNTY, OUT TOWARDS GRINNELL. UP INTO TAMA AND TOLEDO. A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT RAIN HERE. THAT’S ABOUT IT THOUGH. I THINK IT’S OVERNIGHT THAT WE COULD SEE SOME OF THOSE MORE INTENSE DOWNPOURS, IF YOU WILL, AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS, NON SEVERE STORMS HERE AS WE START OFF THE DAY ON SATURDAY. SO THAT’S ALL WE HAVE. A FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT GOES UNTIL NOON TOMORROW AFTERNOON HOURS ON SATURDAY I THINK SHOULD BE MOSTLY DRY. THIS WON’T BE AN ALL DAY THING BUT THERE IS A POSSIBILITY WITH SOME OF THOSE MAYBE MORE INTENSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. WE COULD HAVE SOME PONDING ON THE ROADWAYS. SOME AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY PRETTY SOGGY FROM THE RAIN THAT WE’VE HAD SO FAR THIS JULY COULD CREATE SOME ISSUES. IF WE GET SOME OF THOSE HEAVIER DOWNPOURS GOING. SO AS FAR AS OUR TOP WETTEST JULYS 2025 COMING IN AT NUMBER SEVEN, WE’RE JUST UNDER NINE INCHES OF RAINFALL. IT’S LIKELY WE’LL ADD TO THIS TOTAL THOUGH, BEFORE THE MONTH IS OVER. WE’VE GOT A FEW MORE RAIN CHANCES IN STORM CHANCES COMING OUR WAY BY EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK. SO HERE’S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. THIS IS AROUND 5 A.M. WE COULD GET SOME MORE INTENSE SHOWERS POPPING UP HERE TO START OFF THE DAY TOMORROW AGAIN. FARMERS MARKET GOING ON FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOMORROW. MAYBE WET TO START OFF EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. BUT THEN I THINK THE RAIN DOES PULL OUT OF HERE. AND THEN WE SHOULD BE BACK TO A DRIER AFTERNOON WITH MORE SUNSHINE HEADING INTO THE DAY ON INTO THE DAY ON SATURDAY AS THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS EXIT INTO EASTERN IOWA, WE ARE STILL STUCK WITH THE HUMIDITY, THOUGH. RAIN MAY COOL US OFF BRIEFLY, BUT THEN WE’RE STILL GOING TO HAVE THOSE MUGGY CONDITIONS AT LEAST THROUGH TUESDAY. I THINK BY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, HUMIDITY COMES DOWN, IT GETS A LITTLE BIT DRIER, A LITTLE BIT MORE COMFORTABLE TO BE OUTSIDE. AND THAT’S DUE IN PART TO TO SOME COOLER TEMPERATURES COMING UP BY THURSDAY, FRIDAY OF NEXT WEEK, MAYBE INTO THE WEEKEND. PRETTY GOOD SIGNAL HERE THAT WE’LL HAVE BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. WE’RE TALKING HIGHS MAYBE UPPER 70S IF NOT SLIGHTLY COOLER THAN THAT. SO THAT IS ON THE WAY FOR THE BACK HALF OF YOUR EIGHT DAY FORECAST TONIGHT. UPPER 60S TO LOW 70S. TOMORROW’S FORECAST WILL PUT US BACK INTO THE MID 80S AGAIN. A FEW STORM CHANCES POSSIBLE IN THE MORNING HOURS TOMORROW. SECOND HALF OF SATURDAY SHOULD BE DRY. WILL BE WEATHER IMPACT ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY JUST DUE TO THE HEAT. ONCE AGAIN BACK TO HEAT INDICES VALUES CLOSE T
