Iowa weather: Chance of rain on Thursday and Friday; air quality alert
MORNING STARTING AT 830. NOW WE WANT TO CHECK BACK IN WITH CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JASON SUDEIKIS. JASON. SOME PARTS OF THE STATE ARE SOME FOLKS HAVE THE CHANCE FOR SOME RAIN TOMORROW. WE GOT A CHANCE FOR A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS. NOT GOING TO BE HUGE AMOUNTS OF RAIN, BUT AGAIN, WITH THE CLOUDS, WE’LL HAVE THE CHANCE FOR A SHOWER HERE AND THERE. DON’T BE SURPRISED IF YOU SEE THAT OUTSIDE TONIGHT THOUGH. IT’S BEAUTIFUL. WINDS ARE LIGHT. THEY STAY LIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. YOU CAN SEE THE CLOUDS WORKING THEIR WAY IN A STRAY SHOWER TO THE NORTHWEST. BY 2 P.M. AND AGAIN JUST HIT OR MISS STUFF. WE HEAD INTO THE EVENING. BETTER CHANCES THROUGH WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. BY FRIDAY MORNING WE BREAK SOME OF THAT CLOUD COVER UP, BUT YOU CAN SEE MORE ISOLATED SHOWER ACTIVITY UP NEAR SPENCER STORM LAKE AREA TOWARDS ALGONA THAT CONTINUES TO DEVELOP AS WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY MORNING. A BROKEN LINE FORMS AND AGAIN, NOT EXPECTING HEAVY RAIN WITH THIS, BUT DON’T BE SURPRISED IF YOU SEE SOME SHOWERS AT THE START OF THAT FARMER’S MARKET, AND COULD EVEN SEE A FEW SHOWERS OUT THERE BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON. A LOOK AT PELLA TONIGHT THOUGH, LOOKING ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL OUT THERE. IT’S BEEN A QUIET NIGHT FOR US SO FAR, AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO BE THE CASE. ANY RAINFALL AMOUNTS WITH THIS NEXT SYSTEM WILL BE ON THE LOW SIDE AGAIN, MAYBE A 10TH TO 2/10 AT BEST. AND AS WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY MORNING, COULD SEE AS MUCH AS A HALF INCH IN SPOTS. BUT AGAIN, NOT LOOKING AT ANYTHING SUBSTANTIAL. YOUR DAY TOMORROW, A STRAY SHOWER CHANCE IS REALLY ALL WE’VE GOT. OTHERWISE TEMPERATURES BACK INTO THE MID TO UPPER 70S BEST CHANCES FOR SUNSHINE WILL BE EARLY. THOSE CLOUDS REALLY START TO BUILD IN BY THE AFTERNOON HOURS AND STILL COMFORTABLE TEMPERATURE WISE. 77 FOR THE METRO, 79 FOR GRINNELL AREAS TO THE SOUTH IN THE MID TO UPPER 70S AS WELL. PLAN ON MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES 79 FOR AMES CROCKER AT 77. BROOKLYN COMING IN AT 80 AND OFF TO THE NORTH. A LITTLE BIT COOLER FOR YOUR THREE DAY AS YOU’LL STAY IN THE MID 70S WITH THAT CHANCE FOR A STRAY SHOWER. BUT WE’LL HAVE BETTER CHANCES SATURDAY MORNING AND AGAIN ON SUNDAY. YOU CAN SEE SATURDAY. WE’VE GOT THAT INITIAL BATCH OF RAIN, AND THEN SUNDAY MORNING WE’LL HAVE THAT TOO. BUT THAT KIND OF SHIFTS TO THE EAST AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON. SO NOT GOING TO BE AN ALL DAY LONG THING BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION. BUT THERE ARE CHANCES BOTH DAYS 80 ON SATURDAY, 80 ON SUNDAY. WE’RE LOOKING DRY NEXT WEEK AND COMFORTABLE, AT LEAST FOR THE FIRST COUPLE DAYS, WILL BE IN THE 70S AND THEN WE START T
