TAKE IT DOWN AND GET READY FOR THE OTHER HOLIDAYS COMING UP SOON. AND OF COURSE, IT ALWAYS DEPENDS ON THE WEATHER IS WHETHER OR NOT THOSE ARE GOOD VISITORS. YEAH, YEAH, YEAH. THE GOOD NEWS IS THERE’S NOTHING CRAZY COMING. IT LOOKS LIKE HERE. AS WE HEAD TOWARDS HALLOWEEN, A LOT OF TIMES, YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES THERE’S A BIG DIP IN TEMPERATURES, A BUNCH OF WIND, YOU KNOW, SOMETHING LIKE THAT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THAT HERE. THIS TIME AROUND. LET’S ACTUALLY LOOK AT THIS COMING WEEK, BECAUSE IT DOESN’T LOOK TERRIBLE. I MEAN, IT LOOKS LIKE A STANDARD SORT OF END OF OCTOBER SORT OF WEEK AHEAD. TODAY WE JUMPED UP TO 65 DEGREES. THAT’S SEVERAL DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL. WE’RE GOING TO SORT OF SETTLE OFF A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN AVERAGE, MOSTLY LOW TO MIDDLE 50S HERE. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE COMING WEEK, OUR WETTEST DAY IS SHAPING UP TO MOST LIKELY BE ON TUESDAY. THAT’S WHEN A LOT OF THE STATE OF IOWA, ESPECIALLY, I WOULD SAY CENTRAL AND WESTERN PARTS OF THE STATE, ARE GOING TO BE FAVORED TO SEE ANYWHERE FROM A HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH OF SOME RAIN. AND THERE’S PROBABLY GOING TO BE SOME FOLKS THAT SEE MAYBE UP TO AN INCH AND A HALF IN SOME AREAS AS WELL. THAT’S GOING TO BE MAINLY TUESDAY. AND THEN INTO THE FIRST PART OF WEDNESDAY. AFTER THAT DRIER SKIES AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE END OF THE WORKWEEK, TOWARDS HALLOWEEN AND TOWARDS THE END OF THE MONTH. TODAY WE HAD DRY SKIES, JUST KIND OF VARYING LEVELS OF CLOUD COVER. THIS WAS OUR LOOK DOWN FROM THE SIMPSON CAMPUS NORTHWARD THERE FROM INDIANOLA MID MORNING, STILL GRAY POPPED OUT TO SOME BLUE SKIES IN THE AFTERNOON. AND THEN WE’VE GOT SOME MORE BANDS OF CLOUDS THAT DRIFTED UP FROM THE SOUTH AS WE WENT THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AT TIMES AND INTO THE EVENING, CLOUDS HAVE BEEN MOST PERSISTENT DOWN THERE TOWARDS THE MISSOURI BORDER. HERE, AS WE’VE GONE INTO TONIGHT. THAT’S THE NORTHERN PERIPHERY OF A SORT OF MID LEVEL, UPPER LEVEL, LOW PRESSURE CENTER THAT’S TO OUR SOUTH OVER MISSOURI. THAT’S KIND OF MOVING OFF TO THE EAST. THAT’S ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ONE OF THE MECHANISMS THAT MOVES HURRICANE MELISSA WAY DOWN IN THE CARIBBEAN. BIG WEATHER FEATURE HERE TURNS IT TOWARDS JAMAICA AS WE HEAD TOWARDS EARLY THIS WEEK OR TOWARDS TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW. OUR WEATHER SYSTEM FOR TOMORROW AND INTO TUESDAY MAINLY IS THAT LOW PRESSURE, THAT COLD FRONT OUT TOWARDS THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND DRAPES TOWARDS THE NORTHERN ROCKIES THAT’S GOING TO GET PUSHED THIS WAY BY ANOTHER SYSTEM. IT’S GOING TO BE FIGHTING SOME HIGH PRESSURE, DRY AIR FLOWING OFF OF THE GREAT LAKES REGION, BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL RESULT IN US GETTING SOME RAINFALL HERE AS WE HEAD FORWARD THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. SO MAIN THING TONIGHT IS MOST LIKELY JUST SOME INCREASING CLOUDS, ESPECIALLY ACROSS WESTERN AND SOUTHWEST IOWA WHERE TEMPERATURES DON’T DROP TOO MUCH, NOT FROSTY TERRITORY, MAINLY MIDDLE TO UPPER 40S. IT WILL TAKE MOST OF TONIGHT TO GET DROPPED DOWN BELOW THE 50 DEGREE MARK. TOMORROW CLOUDS WILL BE THICKEST AGAIN ACROSS WESTERN IOWA. YOU’LL START TO SEE A LITTLE BIT CLEARER SKIES, OR AT LEAST SOME PATCHES OF SUN AS YOU HEAD EAST OF I-35, SO OUR TEMPERATURES WILL PROBABLY BE UP IN THE 60S AGAIN, OVER TOWARDS WATERLOO AND CEDAR FALLS AND CEDAR RAPIDS, MAINLY 50S AS YOU HEAD INTO WESTERN IOWA, THERE MIGHT BE A SHOWER OR TWO, OR AT LEAST SOME SPRINKLES OUT TO THE WEST AS WELL. NOW, AS WE HEAD TOWARDS TOMORROW NIGHT. NOW TUESDAY DAYBREAK, WE’RE STARTING TO SEE RAIN BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD OUT TO THE WEST, AND THAT WILL TRY TO SPREAD EASTWARD, FIGHTING THAT DRY AIR STILL A LITTLE BIT. THAT LITTLE BIT OF A DRY EASTERLY BREEZE AS WE HEAD INTO THE DAY ON TUESDAY. BUT TUESDAY, I THINK JUST PLAN ON BEING PRETTY COOL, PRETTY GRAY AND PROBABLY WET AT TIMES. I DON’T THINK TEMPERATURES WILL BE THIS COOL. I THINK WE’LL STILL MAYBE BE ABLE TO CRAWL UP PAST 50 DEGREES, BUT IT WILL BE A DAMP, SORT OF BRISK FEELING. AND THEN ONCE WE PUSH THAT RAIN OUT OF HERE WEDNESDAY MORNING, MAYBE IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT LONGER THAN THIS MODELING SHOWS. BUT SOUTHERN IOWA, YOU STILL COULD BE WET AND WEDNESDAY, AND THEN THAT SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP JUST TO OUR SOUTH. AND WE’LL GET KIND OF THIS COOL BREEZE TO OUT OF THE NORTH AND EAST. ON WEDNESDAY, SOME 25 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS THERE FOR THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. ONCE WE HEAD TOWARDS BEGGARS NIGHT AND THEN HALLOWEEN NIGHT, TEMPERATURES WILL SETTLE DOWN TO MIDDLE 50S, NOT FAR FROM THE NORM THIS TIME OF THE YEAR AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE END OF THE MONTH, DURING THE DAY AND SOME UPPER 30S LATE AT NIGHT INTO THE MORNING HOURS, THERE’S A WEAK SYSTEM COMING OUR WAY TOWARDS SATURDAY. FOR NOW, LOOKS LIKE THAT WILL JUST INCREASE OUR CLOUD COVER, MAYBE SPIT OUT
