It’s been another day featuring clouds and oppressive humidity. Thankfully like yesterday, the clouds prohibited us from heating up too much this afternoon.Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts Temperatures are nearing 90 in many spots, but it’s been feeling more like the upper 90s/lower triple digits through the afternoon. Tomorrow should feel a bit hotter, as we should see more sunshine and heat indices nearing 105 through the afternoon. A heat advisory is in place tomorrow from Noon until 8 PM. An isolated storm or two is possible tonight, but there will be a better chance for storms across the state Wednesday evening into Thursday morning, and then again Thursday afternoon we could see more scattered activity. Our humidity will stay fairly oppressive over the next several days, not giving us a break from the sultry air anytime soon. The weekend is looking dry for now, but temperatures are heating back up by Sunday and beyond, highs are looking like they’ll be back up into the 90s.A tornado warning issued for parts of central Iowa was canceled by the National Weather Service about 30 minutes before its initial expiration time of 5 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.The warning was issued for northeastern Polk County, southeastern Story County, west central Marshall County and northwestern Jasper County.Iowa weather forecast: Today: Partly cloudy. Storms possible, mainly west first half of the day. High 91F. Heat index between 100-110. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph.Tonight: A mostly clear sky. Low 75F.
