Overall, Labor day's forecast will depend exactly where in Iowa you are. Southern and western Iowa are likely in for continued shower activity through midday. These showers will then dissipate through the afternoon.
The rest of Iowa will start tomorrow with cloudy skies and a shower or two. Clouds will decrease through the afternoon, but a few more spotty storms could pop up like today.
Most of the state will see high temperatures in the 70s for the holiday.
The rest of this week's weather will be driven by two cold fronts pushing through Iowa.
Cold front #1 zooms in from the northwest Wednesday morning/midday. More scattered showers and storms will develop along it, and winds will get breezy from the northwest. Once this front is through, we'll get highs in the 60s(!) Thursday.
Cold front #2 arrives overnight Thursday into Friday morning. Yet more showers will drift through Iowa, and winds will gust a bit more.
