Iowa weather: Rain chances work their way into your weekend

Iowa weather: Rain chances work their way into your weekend
WEBSITE AND MOBILE APP. ALL RIGHT, JASON IS BACK IN AGAIN NOW. TONIGHT. VERY NICE NIGHT. BEAUTIFUL NIGHT. YEAH. I KNOW THERE’S A BILLION THINGS GOING ON, RIGHT? AND I THINK THE WEATHER IS GOING TO WORK OUT PERFECTLY TONIGHT. THE REST OF THE WEEKEND COULD BE A LITTLE SHAKY. SO SHAKY. OH, YEAH? WELL, MAYBE NOT. EARTHQUAKE SHAKE. OKAY. WELL, NO, NOT IN IOWA. BUT, YEAH, WE’VE GOT SOME CHANCES FOR SHOWERS. EVEN SOME ISOLATED STORMS. LARGELY FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY ON SATURDAY. COULD SEE THAT BLEED OVER INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. OTHERWISE SATURDAY BEYOND THERE LOOKS WONDERFUL. SUNDAY WILL SEE SOME SUNSHINE OUT THERE. TEMPERATURES AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE 70S. EARLY ON WE’LL HAVE A WEAK FRONT THAT WILL PASS THROUGH AND KICK UP SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS. HEAVIEST OF THE RAIN THOUGH, DOES LOOK TO BE SATURDAY MORNING FOR US, SO IF YOU HAVE PLANS TO HEAD OUT TO THE WHISKEY MYERS CONCERT TONIGHT, IT LOOKS PRETTY GOOD. TEMPERATURES AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE 70S. WE’LL KEEP THOSE CLOUDS OUT THERE, BUT WON’T BE TOO BREEZY FOR YOU, SO MAKE SURE YOU’RE ABLE TO STAY COOL AS YOU’RE IN THAT CROWD AT LAURIDSEN AMPHITHEATER AND YOU CAN SEE JUST SOME LIGHT SHOWER ACTIVITY WORKING ITS WAY IN FROM OMAHA. OTHERWISE, WE DON’T HAVE MUCH ACROSS THE STATE BESIDES CLOUD COVER AT THIS POINT, AND I DON’T THINK WE’LL PICK UP MUCH BY WAY OF RAIN TONIGHT. COULD AGAIN SEE THAT ISOLATED SHOWER, BUT THAT’D BE ABOUT IT. MARSHALLTOWN LOOKING CLOUDY OUT THERE RIGHT NOW, BUT AGAIN, A PRETTY BEAUTIFUL NIGHT FOR US LOOKING DOWNTOWN. YOU CAN SEE THE CLOUDS AND THAT HAZE OFF IN THE DISTANCE FROM THAT WILDFIRE SMOKE. THAT’S GOING TO BE WITH US FOR A LITTLE BIT LONGER, TOO. BUT ON YOUR HOUR BY HOUR AGAIN, MAYBE A STRAY SHOWER PERCOLATES BY TOMORROW MORNING. YOU CAN SEE THAT RAIN CONTINUES TO PUSH ITS WAY THROUGH THE METRO BY 11 A.M. WE’VE GOT THAT THROUGH SOUTHEASTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE AS WELL, AND THAT’S GOING TO SHIFT EASTWARD. AND AGAIN, MUCH OF THE DAY ON SATURDAY LOOKS BEAUTIFUL. 8 A.M. SUNDAY, THAT WEAK FRONT SLIDES THROUGH. IT’S GOING TO BE KIND OF A BROKEN LINE OF WEAK SHOWERS. AND THEN THE WINDS KICK UP A BIT. YOU CAN SEE THOSE OUT OF THE NORTHWEST AT AROUND 25 TO 30MPH. FOR NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE, BUT WE STAY DRY AS WE HEAD THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. AND THEN ANOTHER CLIPPER LIKE SYSTEM SLIDES ITS WAY ON DOWN. THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE THE DRIEST OF THE THREE WITH THAT CHANCE FOR A STRAY SHOWER, MAINLY TO THE NORTH. IF YOU’RE DOING THE PRIDE RIDE TOMORROW MORNING. WELL, YOU’RE GOING TO BE PROBABLY WEARING A PONCHO OR SOMETHING. RUNNING IN THE RAIN IS NOT TOO BAD, ESPECIALLY FOR A5K, BUT DO PLAN ON WEARING SOME GEAR THAT YOU DON’T MIND GETTING A LITTLE SOGGY OUT THERE, AS WE DO HAVE THAT CHANCE FOR SOME SHOWERS FOR THAT AS WELL. AS FAR AS HOW MUCH RAIN YOU CAN EXPECT, I’D SAY WE’D BE TALKING AN INCH. ON THE HEAVIEST SIDE, BUT ANYWHERE FROM A QUARTER TO A HALF INCH FAIRLY WIDESPREAD, MAINLY THROUGH THAT SOUTHERN HALF OF THE STATE. SMOKE FORECAST LINGERS WITH THE HAZE FOR A BIT. WATCH THOUGH, AS WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WE’LL KIND OF HAVE A LOBE OF SMOKE WORK ITS WAY DOWN THAT COULD BRIEFLY KICK UP THAT HAZE A BIT FURTHER BEFORE WE BRING IN A LITTLE BIT MORE SMOKE TO START NEXT WEEK. SO EIGHT DAY FORECAST. LOOKING PRETTY GOOD THOUGH. WE’VE GOT THE RAIN CHANCES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS HERE. THINGS TURN BREEZY BOTH SUNDAY AND MONDAY AFTER THAT. HOW ABOUT SOME SUMMER WARMTH? WE’RE IN THE MIDDLE 8
