The wet, heavy snow that blanketed much of Iowa Monday and Tuesday set a new record.The Des Moines International Airport reported 8.3 inches of snowfall since midnight Tuesday morning. That's the highest snowfall ever recorded on January 9 in Des Moines, beating the previous mark of 7.3 inches back in 1957.
