糖心vlog classic: Iowans raise $5 million to save Arnolds Park from wrecking ball

糖心vlog classic: Iowans raise $5 million to save Arnolds Park from wrecking ball
million dollar donation is going to come to you folks, it is more money than they ever dreamed of. And one final donation from the state of Iowa and Governor Tom Vilsack means Arnolds Park is saved from the wrecking ball. We said we were looking for an angel. I'd like everybody here to turn to your right and left Because there wasn't one angel, there wasn't two or 3 every one of you, the Angels and this project is a goal. Oh six weeks ago, Arnolds Park owner announced he would sell the park to condominium developers. The only way to stop the sale raise $5 million dollars to buy the park and that's just what happened. A few dollars from cookie sales, A few million dollars from cities and park fans from all over the country by modern amusement park standards, Arnold's park is certainly not the biggest or the most exciting, but it does have one thing that's hard to duplicate a 110 year old history. It's the oldest amusement park west of the Mississippi. I just think it's great that they'll keep this because it's a very unique place, has a unique part in the history of the Lakes area and I'd hate to see it go. George turner is thankful for the good news. He spent time here as a kid and so did his daughter. We just enjoyed the park and the family atmosphere up here and so does his granddaughter. This place should stay new york. Everybody is happy the way it is. So now thanks to so many generous Iowans, Arnolds Park will be okay, bogeys most famous landmark for another 110 years.
