The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a street takeover that led to a "flash mob" of people robbing a convenience store. The incident started on the night of Aug. 15 with a street take-over, where vehicles blocked an intersection on LA's south side.Watch surveillance video of the incident in the video player above. Police said drivers flooded the intersection from all directions to create a "pit" in the middle of the intersection. That enabled some drivers to cut donuts in the blocked-off street, leaving skid marks on the pavement.Then the mob rushed a nearby 7-Eleven and looted it, stealing lottery tickets and everything of value. Video surveillance from the store showed the looters fanning out across the store and grabbing merchandise. Police said the looters also vandalized the store and threw merchandise at employees.Before police could respond, the street was unblocked and the looters fled the scene.Police are asking the public if they recognize anyone to call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).
