PRESS BOX. WELL, HIS THREE SISTERS ALL WENT TO OHIO STATE. I WENT TO OHIO STATE, MY WIFE WENT TO OHIO STATE. HE HAD TWO UNCLES THAT WENT TO OHIO STATE. SO THAT’S ALL HE KIND OF REALLY KNEW. IF HE HAD TIME OFF ON A SATURDAY AND THERE WAS A BUCKEYE FOOTBALL GAME, HE WAS GOING TO GO, I REALLY ENJOYED THE OHIO STATE MICHIGAN GAME IN 2016, WHEN THEY WENT TO DOUBLE OVERTIME. MY BROTHER AND I WERE SITTING THERE TOGETHER AND WE DECIDED TO STORM THE FIELD. IT WAS IT WAS REALLY COOL. WHEN THE TIME CAME, OHIO STATE OFFERED LUKE A GRAY SHIRT, NOT A TRUE FULL RIDE THAT IOWA DID, BUT LUKE’S NOT THE KIND OF GUY TO HOLD A GRUDGE AGAINST HIS BELOVED BUCKEYES. I’M SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE ENDED UP BEING AN IOWA HAWKEYE COMING OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL, I WAS NOWHERE NEAR A FINISHED PRODUCT, SO THEY THEY I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST PLACE FOR ME. SO, YOU KNOW, EVERY, EVERY CERTAINLY EVERYONE’S DREAM IS TO, YOU KNOW, BE ABLE TO TO PLAY IN THE HORSESHOE. GROWING UP. BUT YOU KNOW, I HAVE THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO DO IT WITH MY TEAMMATES HERE AT IOWA. SO I’M SUPER EXCITED FOR IT. LUKE WAS A BACKUP IN 2022 WHEN IOWA PLAYED HERE. NOW HE’S AN ALL-BIG TEN CAPTAIN FOR IOWA, AND THIS IS A DAY THE LASHAY FAMILY HAS BEEN WAITING FOR. WE’RE EXCITED FOR MY FAMILY, MY 91 YEAR OLD FATHER GETS TO COME IN FOR THE FOOTBALL GAME, SO HE’S EXCITED ABOUT THAT. HE HASN’T BEEN TO A GAME IN TWO YEARS. YOU KNOW IT’S A BIG DEAL FOR US. I HAVE, YOU KNOW, MY WHOLE FAMILY ON EITHER SIDE. THERE AND YOU KNOW, A LOT OF FAMILY OR A LOT OF FRIENDS FROM MY HOMETOWN. SO YOU STORMED THE FIELD AS A FAN AND NOW YOU’RE PLAYING ON THAT FIELD? YEAH. I’M EXCITED FOR IT. IT’S COOL. YEAH, IT’S A IT’S A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE FOR SURE. AND, YOU KNOW, I’M JUST SUPER EXCITED TO GO OUT THERE AND YOU KNOW HAVE HAVE A GREAT DAY. AND IF LUKE MAKES A BIG PLAY HOW IS JIM GOING TO REACT ON THE OHIO STATE BROADCAST THE SAME WAY WE ALL WOULD? I’LL PROBABLY CHEER. YOU KNOW, I MIGHT EVEN SHED A TEAR OF WHY I’M CHEERING. PROBABLY ONE OF HIS DREAMS GROWING UP, HANGING OUTSIDE OF OHIO STADIUM WAS TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN INSIDE THAT STADIUM. SO YOU KNOW THAT DREAM HAS A POSSIBILITY OF COMING TRUE. ALL RIGHT. OKAY. ALL RIGHT. GOTTA LOVE IT. BIG JIM AND HIS FAMILY ARRIVED ABOUT 45 MINUTES AGO OUT THERE ALREADY SETTING UP THE TAILGATE FOR THE 230 KICKOFF. THERE’S GOING TO BE SO MANY MORE LACHAISE FILING IN. THEY CALL IT THE LASHAY GATE. THEY DIDN’T SAY IT WAS A TAILGATE. JEFF, A LASHAY GATE. AND DID YOU NOTICE WHAT COLOR THEY’RE WEARING? THESE OHIO STATE LIFELONG FANS, THEIR BLACK AND GOLD HERE TODAY
