In Iowa's 4th Congressional District, the Republican and Democratic candidates are already set.Republican incumbent Randy Feenstra will face off against Democrat Ryan Melton in the November general election. Republican Randy Feenstra is hoping the voters of Iowa's 4th Congressional District will send him back to Capitol Hill for a second term. "I am passionate about what we have in Iowa and in the Fourth District and listening to people at the kitchen table right now," Feenstra said. Also on the ballot, Democrat Ryan Melton hopes to move the district in a new direction. "I'm glad we're on the ballot so that we can give the voters of the 4th District choice," Melton said. vlog Political Analyst Dennis Goldford says Melton faces an uphill battle."The 4th District of course, where Representative Feenstra sits, however much that may have been tweaked in terms of redistricting, that's so solidly Republican that would be an earthquake, a political earthquake, if he were unseated in that particular district. That doesn't mean that candidates may not challenge him. But still, he goes in with a tremendous advantage," Goldford said. Melton says his goals are worth the challenge, and he is motivated to stick it out in the race. "Well, you know, I think sometimes the fight is worth fighting, regardless of the odds. There are a lot of people in our districts that are struggling right now," Melton said. But it's those struggles that Feenstra says he wants to solve, with a second term in Congress. "I'm passionately advocating for, and making sure that we have a great economy in our state, and that we get things done," Feenstra said.
