AFTER THAT MEETING. ALTOONA MAN FACES CHARGES IN TWO SEPARATE CASES AFTER POLICE SAY HE SEXUALLY ABUSED AT LEAST TWO CHILDREN. SEVEN YEAR-OLD MICHAEL ERTZ WAS ARRESTED IN WEST DES MOINES ON THURSDAY. HE’S SINCE BEEN RELEASED. COURT DOCUMENTS SAY NEARLY TEN YEARS AGO, HE SEXUALLY ABUSED A GIRL WHO WAS FOUR YEARS OLD AT THE START OF THE ABUSE. ERTZ HAS PLEADED NOT GUILTY. ERTZ IS ALSO CHARGED IN POLK COUNTY FOR THE ABUSE OF ANOTHER GIRL, WHO WAS UNDER THE AGE OF 12.

An Altoona man faces charges in two separate cases after police say he sexually abused at least two children.Police say 70-year-old Michael Ertz was arrested in West Des Moines on Thursday.According to court documents, nearly 10 years ago, Ertz allegedly sexually abused a girl who was four years old at the start of the abuse. He has pleaded not guilty. In a separate case, Ertz is accused of sexually abusing another girl under the age of 12 in Polk County. A plea hearing in that case is set for May 9. According to court documents, nearly 10 years ago, Ertz allegedly sexually abused a girl who was four years old at the start of the abuse. He has pleaded not guilty.
